As the warriors pass slowly into the shimmering portal, the ear-popping silence of the in-between envelopes them completely. Sound becomes nothing more than thick whispers as they move and speak. The other side of the portal is nothing more than a rippling white blur.
Hurry A sudden female voice rushes over them in a harsh breeze. It sounds like Tam. The closer they get to the other side, the colder the wind becomes, though the voice no longer accompanies it. With a audible slush and pop, the portal spits them out into the Upper Umbra as they step into it. *In the Upper Umbra* On a hillside of dry grass and gnarled trees, the gate swirls between its ancient stone arch. No trace of the shining army is seen, but a new breath-taking sight can be seen only a short march away. The city walls rise up in silver-blue against the cool gray sky, with its red setting sun and purplish-ivory half-moon rising. A gigantic set of doors lays facing the portal, closed tightly and looking very uninviting. Water sits in a still pool along the wall, reflecting the color of the sun though upon closer inspection, the traces of true red can be seen floating in great blobs. Upon the warriors left the old arena lies, ruins standing in lonely bundles sparsely over the old sparring ground. To some it may be a sad reminder of a dear friend or the abrupt change that took the group before reaching Alderon. Piles of crumbled stone now support the strange colored mosses, lichens and molds. A few gray-green vines curl up the sides of the taller ruins. The general stands to the right of them, about twenty-five of his men standing behind him. He crosses his arms, the armor creaking only slightly. His eyes narrow as he impatiently waits for everyone to come through. Wind whips the blue flamed flag in a snapping dance, stirs the feathers of the generals plume and makes the long grass around them hiss threateningly. The sound of drums begins in the closed city, the blasts of horns starting soon after. Still, the remainder of the army waits making sure that all come through before leaving ~A sweet little woman..with more bite than bark.~

Soul Reaver talks to Clutchfiend.
"Clutchfiend, perhaps we should make this journey now. These men appear to be getting impatient. Hopefully there will be time for you to explain this situation to me in the Upper Umbra - I still do not know the men who attacked me upon arrival, or what their motives are." He then approaches Asaki, and speaks to her as well. "Asaki, I hope to see you in the Umbra soon. I have... many things to consider." Soul Reaver then walks towards the portal, grabbing and sliding Blooddrinker from the ground as he walks past. The blade, as always, feels warm in his hand. The raven upon Soul Reaver's shoulder seems content to follow him through the glowing gate. Without another word, he steps through the portal and into the Upper Umbra. |

" Asaki i am gonna leave you...i hope you'll be ok..when you have time plz tell me where lizzie is " Kaworu stands up and runs as fast as he can towards soul, he steps through the gate and catchs up to Soul " I missed you man. "

Dante and cLuTcHFieND move simultaneously.
"Marines! Move out!!!" cLuTcHFieND, Dante, and their 40 marine escort move through the portal. cLuTcHFieND carries the still unconsious female figure, and the two Apothecarys carry Lt. Peterson on a strecher. They emerge on the other side in full formation. cLuTcHFieND looks around and spys the ruined arena. By the Primarch......it seems like it's been so long......... >>all I've undergone, I will keep on.......>>cF<

*The ravens feathers ruffle as his steed enters the portal, when they reach the other side, he flys from his perch and takes to the sky.*
Slayer - This land is desolate, yet i can sense amazing power from it... but of what kind? Is it evil i sense? Holy? magical?.... perhaps it's time to join this team.... *Slayer decends to the group and his raven body glows a bright white. many of the soldiers anf fighters are forced to shade their eyes as he trasnformed. soon, his black feathers and small body had given way to a tall man with dark purple hair, his odd shaped robes and gleaming smile seemd to contrest his eyes, that were alwyse closed.... (His eyes are alwyse like this: ^_^ seriously!) Slayer stood silent, awaiting for the others to regain their composer and for reactions....* |

Kaworu looks at Soul to see the raven change into a human shape form. he walks up to him and check him out.
" I don't really sense any powers from you, eithers its because i've lost that ability or your hiding it. But you must have power to change " Kaworu turns around back to soul and leans on him a bit. " Soul do you mind if i lean on you? I'm really tired and weak. "

Soul Reaver narrows his eyes as he carefully studies Slayer.
"Interesting. I sensed that the raven was more than it appeared. I would hope that you come with... amiable intentions, lest we be forced to defend ourselves." Soul Reaver holds his sword point downwards and loosely, indicating that he is making no hostile moves, but prepared to attack if needs be. He awaits a response. |

Slayer smiles at the Soul Reaver, "Amiable intentions you say? well is that is what you wish, then that is what you shall have." he says, bowing low and sweaping his free arm outward. Straightning himself, he replies. "You need not worry about me, I am simpley a travler in search of my journy's end. Nothing more." Slayer looks towards Kowaru and his smile slightley droops, "I'm afraid i do not understand what you mean by "Power", but perhaps i shall learn." he mutters, turning to face the rest of the group.
"Greetings! My name is Slayer!" There was a noticable ping of familarty among a few of the group, a sort of "I know that name..." feeling among them, "I would like to meet this party's leader, so that I may council with him...." |

Hidden in the shadows of the run-down arena were a pair of eyes, carefully watching the newly arrived group. "Those better be the band of warriors that she charged me to find. I can't stand waiting any longer.... Hmmmm... there's too many guards. Normally I'll just blast through but those people might think I have hostile intentions for them and that would be counter-productive to my task... Better lure one of them away unseen. Why the hell am I talking to myself now? I must be really out of it..."

Kax nods as Jihon talks... babbles... and apologizes...
He then shifts back to his normal state. He no longer shimmers when he steps and many of the blinking lights on his suit turn off. "Well this Fei character sounds interesting... And this place is quite interesting also. I wonder what happenned to it? You all look like you have been here before... Perhaps you could enlighten me?" Kax looks towards Jihon, awaiting an answer. |

"I have been here before... I am the reason it looks like this too.... You see a few months ago (really dont know how long it has been) I was possesed by an antidelvian known as Cerberis. Cerberis used my body to form a small empire here on earth. He was a reall ass hole.... My freinds were able to get him out of my body and everything was just dandy.... I, unfortunatly, was stripped of my mask. I had to stand trial before a few of the residents of this place. It ended up being a big battle... Since my mask was gone my body could no longer contain the energy that I has accumulated over the years.... So in short.... I blew up! Killing everytone who was left in the umbra. Including my good freind Kelvack...." *Jihons smile turns into a frown as he speaks of Kelvack.... He takes a look around at the tattered umbra as they exit the portal.* "I feel bad coming back here....." "It is not the fear of death that drives us.... It is the fear of eternal life...."

This fellow must have had some power built up inside to do all of this. I wonder how he ever survived his own destruction though... Kax presses a few buttons and a visor shields his eyes. He looks through it and surveys the area once more. "Interesting..." |
