After Naraka's death, Asaki opens her eyes, not even realizing that they were shut, or that she had sunk to the ground.
She releases Kasei and it transforms back into the fire rod. She stares at her hands, bloody from the barbed wire. She closes her eyes as her body heals, except for a few open wounds which her powers cannot help.
Her attention turns at the sound of flesh, muscle, and bone being pierced by metal, instantly knowing that she would not have time to bask in the victory of Naraka's death. Her brown eyes go wide and her mouth opens in shock as Soul Reaver lays Kawanua to rest. Unable to say a word, she merely stares.
******************************************
Once Shenba goes to patching up the warrior, Asaki stands, painfully.
She stumbles foward a bit, towards Soul Reaver. Her eyes, expressing sadness, confusion, and loss.
"Wh...why did you do that??"
Her sensei turns to her, meeting her eyes.
"Why did you kill him? There were other ways! There were..."
Her breathing comes out in short heaves, like pouting, but holding back the tears. Her eyes have a mix of stress: anger, frustration, depression, exhaustion and regret.
She opens her mouth to speak but doesn't say a word for fear that they may drive her to tears. Instead, her face pronounces the pain and she turns sharply and walks away, seating herself on rubble, her right hand on her forehead.
Kasei floats closer to Soul Reaver and hovers beside him.
Kasei: Don't take it personally. She doesn't....understand. You did what you needed to do and the results are not your fault. They are not anyone's fault. *Kasei speaks the last sentence loud enough so Shenba can hear it* Asaki's just tired. Very tired. You all could use some rest.
In the distance, Asaki rubs her foot in the dirt where Naraka used to be. Her hands, down at her sides. Her head, hung low so her hair covers her face.
She does not even look up as the other warriors begin to rise in preparation to finally go about their lives once more...
(ooc: Asaki does not know what happened to Kawanua, other than the fact that he was just killed by Soul Reaver. Kasei does, however, know. Breathe freely, Naraka is dead!
