Also, Kawanua, I really wish you'd read my post. Firstly, as I told you on AIM, the Legionnaires were far away from you (on the other side of the wall) and secondly, all but two of them were dead.
I'm really not in the mood for this tonight.)

Soul Reaver turns his attentions to the last two Legionnaires standing. His Retribution Shield is flickering and sizzling with the energy from the blows it has absorbed.

Soul Reaver extends his right hand in front of him, stopping the palm just short of the actual barrier. Energy gathers in front of his flattened palm, the power drawing over the spherical surface of the shield in the shape of screaming, distorted faces.

A bolt of energy gathers and flies from the shield towards the Legionnaire closest to Soul Reaver. The Legionnaire attempts to dodge, but the bolt immedately changes its trajectory and slams into the Legionnaire.

Despite the Legionnaire's magic resistance, the power of the bolt is enough to blast an almost perfectly circular hole through the side of its torso.

The Legionnaire wavers somewhat unsteadily on its feet, but continues to stumble towards Soul Reaver. A frighteningly quick slash from its scimitar gets past Soul Reaver's defences, punching through the sizzling through the Retribution Shield and burying itself in Soul Reaver's left shoulder. He grunts in pain, but watches in satisfaction as his Fire Shield flares up again, igniting the Legionnaire's cloak while he cleaves diagonally through the Legionnaire's chest with Blooddrinker. The Legionnaire falls over in a flaming heap.

The last Legionnaire realises it is surrounded and outmatched. With nothing else to lose, it lunges suicidally at Soul Reaver with a barbed polearm while Soul Reaver is still recovering from the blow. However, Soul Reaver's fearsome combat abilities allow him to sidestep at the last moment, swinging Blooddrinker in a massive two-handed blow at the Legionnaire's back as he does so. The sword cleaves right through the Legionnaire. Its upper torso falls to the ground some distance away from the rest of its body.

Soul Reaver stands still, breathing hard. The wound on his shoulder is bleeding lightly, but appears to be healing. Soul Reaver allows his protective spells to flicker out before speaking.

"It seems that is all of them. I hope that Stavarus will manage to drag himself out of his self-loathing long enough to help us continue onwards..."

(ooc: Tam, there's your cue for asking about what happened with Stavarus. :P)

Soul Reaver looks somewhat surprised at Tamrissa's ignorance of what actually happened. He opens his mouth to talk...

Gulver interrupts Soul Reaver with his angered intrusion before Soul Reaver can say anything. Soul Reaver watches him go.

"I certainly will not allow Gulver to slay any of my companions.."

Soul Reaver simply stands still for a while, watching. However, he finally shakes his head and returns his attentions to Tamrissa.

"So you did not see what happened to Stavarus?"

Soul Reaver looks behind him, ensuring that Stavarus is nowhere nearby to hear him. He sees Stavarus donning his re-formed clothing in the distance, so he decides to continue.

"Allow me to put it this way... none of us healed him.

He healed himself.

I think it might be easier if I were to show you..."

Soul Reaver gestures in the air, weaving an Illusion spell into a transparent, three dimensional image of the battle.

Tamrissa sees Stavarus collapsing and sliding down the bolt... and then, his awesome rebirth, as his Daemonic wings unfurl and he unleashes his devestating aura. The next images are furious flashes of Stavarus brutally slicing and carving his way through the Legionnaires, disintegrating them left and right with a wave of his hands.

It ends with Stavarus collapsing to the ground, reverting to a pitiful, naked human form, sobbing in self-pity.

Soul Reaver looks at Tamrissa for a reaction.

"As you can gather, there were a few things he did not tell us, which truly explains his hatred for Daemons and the Warp Lord, in particular..."
