The Immortal Brigadier General
|
Soul Reaver rips another sheet of steel from the throne, sending it clanging to the ground several metres away. It is with some relief that he sees Kasei appear beside him, helping him prise the metal away. Even through his gauntlets, he can feel the sharpness of the steel it is all edges and blades.
Wrapping his fist around a razor-edged chain, Soul Reaver gives a yank and tears through its links, partly freeing Asakis arm the one holding Blooddrinker. Soul Reaver gives a humourless grin as he takes the sword from her hands.
I will gladly take it back from you.
The rage comes flooding back into him the moment his hand closes over the sword, but he has become strong enough to repress it. Soul Reaver hacks at the metal surrounding Asaki, the sword slicing through it as if it were butter. As the blood-soaked blade rises and falls, pieces of steel fly through the air. Asaki is free in moments. She looks to have suffered numerous cuts and punctures, but thankfully nothing severe. He quickly pulls her free and hands her over to Kasei, so that he will take her away from the throne. His eyes blazing, he looks at Asaki.
There are now other things to attend to
Soul Reaver disappears in a flash, running amazingly fast. He appears almost directly below the falling Kitharsis, his hands glowing with magical energy. A host of crimson sparks appear around Kitharsis, slowing his fall to the ground he should land relatively gently. Soul Reavers eyes turn towards Tamrissa, but with alarm, turn back to the Warp Lord
The Warp Lords body fairly crackles with power now, the muscles beneath his flesh visibly rippling from the powers he is commanding. Lightning roars and crashes into him from Asakis spell. Though it buffets even his towering form around, the Warp Lords concentration is unbroken. He seems to ignore the stream of green bolts that issue from Tamrissas hands, even as they draw blood from him. Even as Jharms shining form flies towards him, he seems oblivious.
With a sucking sound, the flesh threatening to crush Tamrissa is sucked back, reforming the Warp Lords lost arm. The swords in his fists disintegrate into small wisps of red energy, and he spreads his arms wide, just as his wings flap to thrust him backwards, putting some distance between him and the incoming Jharm. Energy swirls from his torso and up the length of his arms, gathering into glowing stars on each of his six hands. The red patterns in the stones of the chamber are madly whirling around Blackrend.
Soul Reaver shouts a warning.
Everyone, brace yourselves! Defend yourself however you can!
Soul Reavers free hand closes over the amulet he wears on his chest, and his other hand brings Blooddrinker up, the blade parallel to the ground in a defensive posture. He draws on his internal energies
The Warp Lord roars as he throws his arms forwards. His entire body blasts backwards from the recoil of his attack. A huge wave of red energy a veritable wall of power thunders from his hands with the sound of a thousand screeching Daemons. It roars forwards through the chamber, the flagstones it passes over rupturing upwards, forming a wave as if the ground were water. The pillars caught by the wall shiver momentarily, then explode into a mass of dust and gravel. The wave hits the charging Jharm head-on, but its massive size continues relentlessly onwards, enveloping everything in front of the Warp Lord. Jharm can only hope that the holy energies surrounding him will offer some protection against the attack, even as the force of the wave carries him away like a leaf caught in a tornado.
A wall of blue anti-magic pulses up around Soul Reaver just before the Annihilator Wave hits him. The ground beneath his feet turns into a mass of loose rock as the spell hits. For a moment, Soul Reaver feels an impossible pressure pushing against him, before the spell partly manages to force its way even through his potent defences.
The blasts feels as if it were a wind composed of a million razors. Without a doubt, an ordinary, unprotected man would have been totally eviscerated, the skin flayed from his muscles, his muscles torn from his bones, his very bones blasted to shards. Soul Reaver shuts his eyes, drawing on every reserve of power to hold up his defence, even as searing agony washes over every inch of his being. Thousands of cuts rip into his flesh as the invisible blades tear away at him, blood pours down his legs and arms freely. He is unable to see how the other companions fare he silently prays their defences combined with the protection from his counterspell will be enough to withstand the onslaught.
Finally, the spell passes by, leaving total devastation in its wake. Soul Reaver almost falls forwards as the pressure against his defences suddenly disappears.
The Warp Lord however is already springing to action. The four swords rematerialise in his arms, and he thrusts himself forwards on his muscular pinions. He dives left and right, slashing at every companion close to him, punching and kicking with the strength of a true titan. He is moving massively fast, far faster than a giant creature like him should be able to. He strikes at every companion in front of him, before pulling away again.
Soul Reaver, though soaked in his own blood, feels the power within him begin to burst open like a broken dam.
Soul Reaver roars as red lightning sizzles from his body. He rises from the ground into the air, every muscle in his body flowing with new power. Flames of red energy lick from his iris, swirling up into the air of the chamber. The Warp Lord is heading directly towards him.
Soul Reavers hovering form holds Blooddrinker in salute as the Warp Lord meets him.
There is a shattering crash as Blooddrinker strikes the first of the Warp Lords swords, and sparks fly through the air. A pulse of red lightning sheathes over the surface of both blades as both Soul Reaver and the Warp Lord are thrown away from each other. Both renew the attack.
Soul Reaver hefts Blooddrinker with incredible ease the huge sword feels light as a feather in his hands, and fairly darts through the air, whistling the sound of death as it flies. Sizzling sparks trail in its wake as Soul Reaver battles against the Warp Lord. Impossibly, Soul Reaver manages to hold his ground against the full, concentrated fury of Blackrend. Blooddrinkers rage flows through him now, but without possessing him, while his own energies are roaring within him. His pain is nothing now, the only thing that exist is the battle before him. Even as Blackrends blows rain down, Soul Reaver parries left and right, flitting between the incoming blades and sending down blows of his own. Even the Warp Lord is occasionally forced to parry Soul Reavers vicious slashes. The blows Blackrend strikes on Soul Reaver do not seem to concern the warrior, even as his blood rains down and patters onto the ground.
Slowly, a crackling energy forms around Soul Reavers free hand, even as he brings it up to deflect one of Blackrends blows with his gauntlet. Soul Reavers voice is heard in the minds of his companions, though it sounds strangely as if a host of people were speaking at once.
My companions
fall on him with whatever you can muster! We must weaken him now, while I can still keep him occupied!
(ooc: Remember that after his spell, Blackrend made passing attacks at almost everyone, so dont forget to reply to them whether you managed to parry or avoid them or not is up to you. As for now, Blackrend isnt completely helpless, but hes pretty occupied. Hit him hard, but make sure to save something for the end! Oh, and sorry to Jharm for smacking him around like that.)
