As Edgar comes closer to Asaki, she stares into his eyes. There's a tugging at her spirit but her mind refuses to give in. Her attention turns away from the newcomer as Soul Reaver intervenes and tries to comfort her.
"Thanks."
Kasei, a fire rod once more, hovers closer to the teenager. "How ya holding up, kid?"
"Nervous. Death by torture doesn't sound too appealing."
Taro glances at his watch and sighs. He begins to open his mouth to speak when the Sorean re-enter Jihon's ship.
"001788, Asaki Masako. Please come foward."Asaki looks at the warriors. "Well, this is it."
The teenager walks closer towards the Sorean, anxious. Taro remains perfectly still, awaiting their verdict.
"We have reached a final decision. For major crimes against the universe, I, 779AA0173, find the accused 001788, Asaki Masako....not guilty."The teenager exhales a big sigh of relief and looks at her comrades, elated. She turns back towards the Sorean. "Well, what're you waiting for," she raises her hands towards them. "Cut me loose."
One of the cyborg aliens releases the manacles on the teenager's wrists. She rubs them tenderly before striding over towards her friends. She smiles and gives Soul Reaver a hug.
"Unfortunately, there is one more thing..." Asaki releases Soul Reaver and turns towards them. "One--more--thing?"
"Given the incidents that occurred during the run of the trial, it is in our better judgement to relocate you elsewhere...away from such vigilantes. Such would also be penance towards the 47 deaths you caused on Yu-gun Z.""...Do I get a choice in this?"
"No.""Well, where am I going?"
"With us. The Sorean could use a person with marine skills to help with the capture of dangerous criminals.""I guess...but..." She looks at her companions.
"We leave at once.""That's it?? She murders and comes out clean??" Taro glares at the teenager, angered.
"That is all, Masako. Please wait for us in our ship."Taro comes close to Asaki. "This isn't over. I will hunt you until the end of my days."
The teenager smiles. "I know. Good-bye, Uncle."
Taro looks around at the warriors before exiting Jihon's ship.
"We thought he'd never leave. We go now as well.""Can I...at least say good bye to my friends?"
"Very well--make it quick."The teenager comes closer to the warriors. "I guess...this is what they mean by 'so much to say...so little time...' But I gotta go. It's my last chance to make it up to everyone. It's what I've always wanted. Besides--if I don't go...they might go back on their verdict."
