Willem's arm muscles tense once all four hands tighten on his arm. He gives Fei a small glance, almost daring him to try something as he returns the amused expression. His eyes then close and he bows his head until the hood over his hair is all that can be seen.
Do not remove your hands from me until I give permission. I would hate to see any...no, make that some...of you torn apart by the Endless, his voice projects into their minds, their connection to him strengthened by the close contact.
His entire form fades to a ghost-like transparency and he lifts his head, the darkness of his eyes is replaced by golden suns, smoldering with magic. His lips move with silence, muttering an incantation. Suddenly, four gold cold-fire webs leap from the points where each hand touches. Like a fisherman bringing in his catch, the webs pull tight around their individual and draw inwards.
All take on the same transparency before being tossed into Willem, melding into one person. At once, they are each other, themselves and one. Yet, before they have enough time to remember much more than a glance from behind each other's eyes, they are reformed into separate beings, standing in the same position as they were before the nets were cast.
You may release my arm.Tamrissa pulls her arm back wickedly fast, taking a few steps back. She gasps as her heel reaches the edge of the ground and a great splash of water pours down on her. Her eyes widen even more as their still golden-eyed sidhe host reaches towards her and pulls her back to them.
Careful, it is a long drop into that waterfall and a rocky ride at the bottom if you do not have the gate opened."Waterfall?" she rips away from him and looks around.
They are most definitely standing just behind a raging fall of water, mist wisping off in clouds into the small cave opening. The sound of the thundering falls suddenly becomes noticable and loud. Great gusts of cool air occasionally whip through the small cavern.
"What the hell are we doing here? Why a waterfall?" she shouts over the deafening roar.
You must have all four physical elements, plus the fifth element of both symbol and will, to open a pathway to Eire. And my symbol, he holds up his marked wrist, still mind-speaking to all who have not closed him off.
, indicates that I can only enter through falling water. It is a way to make it more difficult for intruders to enter and also to keep track of who will be entering where.Tam turns around and looks at the curtain of white.
"Water, air, earth, you...but I don't see how you will get a fire started in here!"
Willem turns around and ducks back into the small darkened space of the cave. By this time, all are covered with a fine layer of moisture. He returns a few seconds later as Tam turns to ask the question again. A clear bottle is in his hands, a strange little flickering figure struggling about the sides with its flame-like arms shooting randomly in the air.
Uruite...the Eire equivalent of a firebug, only more intelligent, mischievious and purely magic, he explains, staring at her with the magic embers still burning in his eyes.
Pick up that stone at your feet, Roshan, and help me.He moves towards the sheet of water, bottle raised in front of him. The strange creature flickers and moves faster in its prison. Tam does as she is told, hair now matted to her forehead and drops of water sliding down her face and arms.
The more elements that can be provided naturally, the more strength and longevity the gate will have. Luckily, I normally only have the fire to import. Besides that, it is hard to drop a campfire over a waterfall or keep a flame burning inside of a jar without it being smothered on the way down."You're going to drop that poor thing??"
That poor thing...you earthies are all alike, he chuckles.
She is one of millions who plague the fires of Eire's volcano, she will not be missed.Tamrissa frowns at him. But he is already beginning to mutter silently again. Gently the rock and bottle rise into the air, the flame being jumping and flaring. She watches it with lowered brows.
"Get it over with, Willem, or I am setting her free!"
With that, both elements are shoved into the wall of water, immediately disappearing. Nothing seems to happen.
It is done. Jump.Tam's eyes get large again.
"You first!"
The gate may shut before the rest of you are through if I go first. I swear you will be safe! Now jump!He turns and waves the rest of them towards the water.
Quickly!Tam glances at Fei and then takes a step. She breathes in a deep breath and then lets out a determined yell as she dives over the edge and down towards the churning pool below, pounded continually by heavy water...
((OOC: Please don't feel I have rushed along here, if you want to ask Willem questions or have a conversation before you jump, I'll post again before we move on into Eire. :-) ))
