The forest battle
Agarwaen Taure, The Blood-Stained Forest, would soon fall away from the elfish hands that struggled to hold it and it would be one step further for the Demada, The Forgotten. (The sidhe male below would be the first blood drawn from Eires lustrous race by Demadas forces and it would be a fair warning to them that his blood would not be the last.) His people were called Morchiant by the sidhe, but not all were dark shapes in the night. Frudoc was firm proof of that. A gnome had been his mother, but he knew well what his father was. He watched the gnomish creations attack with grotesque grace and speed from his perch above. A cackle bubbled in his throat as the vampire challenged the surrounding woods.
A groggily hoarse voice lifted into the night across the way from him, another gnome calling the beasts to find their brothers and attack anew. Frudocs own voice joined the sickly song, croaking like the ancient bullfrogs of Maksa Swamp. He knew well that the goblins would answer this time, as would all other alliances of Demada after two more of their blood-thirsty calls.
Bloody One shall watch his friends die first! Then he shall be given to Gorgorath! another of his hunting party howled down at the group in his language.
Sidhe Princeling, your blood is mine! Soigo, the hunters proud leader, gurgled from somewhere below Frudocs tree.
The scarred ugly one! He belongs to Gwilich!
Give the little female to Chiwiel! Let her pull her pretty hair out before she slits her throat! Frudoc gave a lustful growl at his mates sudden shout of rage towards the half-sidhe woman.
I will drink the blood from masked ones skull! Ybyduc yipped from the tree branch above him, barely keeping hold as his excited hopping almost took him over the edge.
Various other noisy yells and roars came from all around, cheering on the next wave of their pets

Narion Bloodroot felt a slow chill spread up his spine as he heard the distant growling, snarling and shrieking. The morchiant had found the sidhe duke and his party now. It might be too late already.
Narion, Galildor, his elder brother, placed a hand on his shoulder, startling him. The scouts believe we have discovered them before the dark shapes have. Only the waara have attacked so far, with goblins not far behind.
He nodded as Narion looked at him hopefully.
En! Goblins! one of PineHaven Clans females shouted.
Galildor let out a mighty curse as he and Narion moved to intercept a horde of them, surely enough sent to stop them from reaching their goal

Willem dispenses with his most recent shrieking attacker, golden eyes coming up to look at Serumen with the gray-blue ichor splattered on his still snarling face. He listens as the vampire challenges for more of the things to attack him. The answering threats of the Waare make him cringe.
They claim our deaths, he remarks to the curious glance of Tamrissa looking up at the trees as she lowers her blade. These are not the gnomes
though they have with them the gnomish creatures. I wondered at the number of the beasts
the gnomes do not have chance to create this many usually.
He poked a nearby corpse with his boot tip pointedly.
No, those heathens are the Waare and they have never been this far into civilized Eire
Kemen save us
goblins follow wherever the Waare go.
His sword came up to clash against the dark metal of a chest plate and he spun to knock the beast back as another came flying at him.

The Sidhe Court
Mridia scraped a hand down across the mirror in her hand, the glass rippling like water and then going still like a mirror should be. She looked up at bathing rooms door as a faint scratching came from the other side.
Aaye! she made a purposeful ruckus of splashing about in the hot spring. Give me a moment.
No need, Your Highness, her handmaids soft voice came muffled through the door. I am to tell you that your father wishes to see you the moment you are finished.
Giving a frown and a sigh that pushed her lips out, she made some sound of agreement and sat back in the water, arms braced on the warmed stones surrounding the pool of water. Her hand found the handle of the mirror again and she lifted it to see an iridescently-scaled iron hued face staring at her with pale gray eyes, his bald head sloping up in a crested crown-like formation. Both smiled simultaneously

The girl spoke to the fish man again, Acielith knew as she pulled her ear away from the door and moved to prepare the royal brats robe and slippers. The Queen would have to know. As her smile grew with the thought of the little blue-eyed ice mage falling in love with a water-dwelling fish, fingers of air brushed the back of her neck.
Tandir, the King would have your head if he found you here, she spoke quietly, but with a sharp confidence, smile fading.
The King will do nothing about something he doesnt know, the soldiers arms encircled her waist from behind her and held her against him as she continued to fold a towel.
A jolt of her fire magic flitted through his arms, causing him to gasp, but he did not remove his arms.
Vixen! I might be killed on the morrow and you would not care! he pouted, his chin coming to her shoulder.
I would not, you are right. I do not care for sillies who look for trouble, she smirked at his jutting lower lip. Besides, what would kill a mewling babe such as yourself?
The muscles in his arms tensed in an expression of the strength she knew he had and he rolled his head to the side slightly, his long golden braid tickling down her arm. The air from his feigned sullen sigh moved against the side of her face.
Only the most notorious killer ever to have been born of the Court, he answered boredly and released her.
Fei Serumen? she set down the towel shed been holding and turned towards him, grasping his crossed arms fiercely. Is he truly coming?
Mm, yes, he shrugged. And that little trollop of Cydias. But you do not care that I must march out to meet them and risk my life protecting Eire from them.
She tugged his arms free and helped him wrap them back around her, turquoise eyes lowering to her fingers working at the ties of his jerkin. He put his lips to her forehead as she spoke.
Tell me more and I shall give you my favor to march with, the sound of the door opening to her left found her pushing him away harshly. Later! Go!
He was gone before the Princess lifted her eyes
