Posts: 3771 Sep 24 03 9:32 PM Angel of Redemption God-General More My Recent Posts	Cameron closes his eyes as Tamrissa mentally speaks to him. "Yeah... I heard him." Cameron turns and walks towards the platform. Tamrissa and the other elementals join them, and Cameron starts the platform on its downward trip. As the platform reaches the bottom of the tower, Cameron walks over to the western wall and places his hand in a depression that looks like it was not part of the original tower. There is a beep, and a set of doors slides open in front of him, revealing a closed glass elevator. He gets in, and the others follow. As soon as everyone is in, he presses a button. The doors shut, and the elevator descends, heading underground. All everyone can see at first is rocks, but eventually the elevator makes it through the ground layer into a massive underground chamber. Behind them is the base of the tower, which apparently extends another 70 feet (about 21 meters) underground. Thousands of thick metal support cables are strung about between the tower base and the walls of the rock chamber. Down below, at the base of the tower, a number of small buildings have been constructed, and to one side of all this is a large freestanding warp gate. Karyl smiles. "I never get tired of this view. Fucking awsome." After about a minute or so, the elevator reaches the bottom of the chamber, and everyone gets out. The warp gate is to their right, and it is this 20 foot tall gate that Cameron begins to walk towards. As he reaches a control panel that is set up near it, he opens up a large box and pulls gas masks and air tanks from them. He hands one to each of the elementals and to Tamrissa. "There isnt much air where we're going." Cameron looks at Tamrissa. "Are you sure you're ready for this?"

Her head turns towards the massive warp gate and the cables stretching from tower to wall. "This is certainly not what I expected to be down here," she mumbles, glancing at Karl's enthusiastic comment. As they step out of the elevator, she lets her weakened senses stretch out a bit to get a grasp of the tower's base. She feels the same immense strength of energy reverberating off of the artifact as she did on the surface. Her attention is taken back by Cameron as he moves to the gate. "Of course not," she replies as she looks down at the gas mask and air tank. "How can you be ready for something you know nothing about and have never experienced?" She looks up. "I am as ready as I am ever going to be, Cameron. I have very little time left and I will only get weaker as the hours pass. The real question is this...are you ready to risk your plans on me?" Her olive eyes are truthful and she waits until his answer before slipping the gas mask on...

"You have killed me, but yet I live. You set me free, and For that, I thank you. I do more then Thank you. In Time, I will give you what I've always wanted to Give you. Heh... In Time. I'll be watching you..." The voice laughs before going into the cold nothingness leaving trails of broken memories to scatter through the Woman's head. Flashes of Emeralds piercing through the visor of the gas mask in a nausiating spark. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, Down on the Street, Fei lets the warm morning sun rise tickle the back of his neck. "It's been so long since I had the opportunity to watch the Sun Rise." Fei grins at the thought. "How quickly time Flies." "You Got that Right, Damn it. It feels good to be out of Hell." Alex comments, scratching the side of his head before out of nowhere comes a pipe. "Now this is the Good stuff. This is my Higher Enlightenment right here." The man takes a deep puff. The moment he exhales a marine steps in front of him, receiving a Face full of Smoke. [intermission] "It appears that we're to go to the command center. Let us go" Fei clasps his hands together, letting the Robe drape down over his hands as he begins to walk slowly. "Are you sure we should do this, my love? What business do we have? Why are we here? You leave so many questions unanswered since you woke up. Why?" Mystara clings tightly to his arm, virtually unshakable. "Answers come with time. Why should I tell you my business, when you're along to experience it? Don't be so Eager. Answers come with Time. You'll find out in a little bit." Is what Fei has to Say in response to the Scantily clothed Forest Nymp that seems to draw quite a bit of attention of the early morning people who stare gawk-eyed with no shame. "Well, think we could pick up the pace a bit? All this walking is ruining my Haze. I don't want to be straight laced when we get in there." Alex murmurs across to the Larger man who continues to pay virtually no attention to him. You're the only one here who could do this, and if I don't do something, you're going to die. Mary... please open the gate." Mary walks over to the control panel and begins to activate it. Suddenly, there is a burst of energy from in front of the group, and a rift tears open within the freestanding gate. Cameron stares at the swirling energies for a moment, and then slips his gas mask and air tank on. "Let's go." Cameron plunges into the gate, and Karyl and Mary follow. Garr and Kari hang back to make sure that Tamrissa is able to get into the gate okay.

Quickly looking down to Sera, danyael give sher a gentle smile and shakes his head as if nothing is wrong. In a way, he didn't want to be on this planet. he wanted to be alone with Sera. He wanted to spend quality time with the woman he loved, escaping the pressures of being Emperor. But another part of him wanted to remain and aid his friends. After all, they were there for him when he needed help, surely he could return the favor. Perhaps he and Sera would partake of togetherness after the battle of the eye. Looking across the lobby, to the large reflective windows, he could see his reflection. An outline of Kanshisha could be seen as a faded image. but visible none-the-less. His stare is stopped as Sera tugs at his hand, looking up at him with worry-filled eyes. "Kanny, what's wrong?" tightening her grip on Danyael's hand with a renewd anxiety. "Don't worry about it. I'm fine.", is all he says before slowly looking around the lobby, all the while caressing her hand with his thumb. "Really. I'm fine.", he adds in just for good measure. Sera, completely skeptical of Danyael's reply, pulles herself closer to him, clasping her arm around his waist and laying her head against his chest. "Kanny, i know when you're lying to me. You're also terrible at telling fibs.", she jests to him. Danyael lays his head atop hers. "I'll tell you when we have more time." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~elsewhere in the city~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hah ha ha ha ha!!! Got ya, you little bastard!! now gimme that back!", Grin howls as he holds the boy up by the front collar of his shirt. The little, fast moving legs can't seem to touch the ground no matter how fast they flail. "Yeah! Keep trying to run and i'll bite those little legs off, myself!!", he yells, completely intimidating the boy. "Now gimme back my moola!! NOW!" Obediently, the boy drops the stolen goods into Grin's palm. Setting his items back into his long, body-length trench coat, the knight drops the boy, allowing him to scurry off into the crowd. Jandra looks over to Grin and shrugs her shoulders as if she expected all of his behavior to occur accurately. And it did. "Grin, there are just some days where i really think you are a psycho.", she says to the knight. "But i am a psycho. Well...sometimes.", Grin replies. "Hey you two, let's head back to the barracks. I'm sure that we won't be here for too long.", Gale requests as he turns away and vanishes. Grin and Jandra are soon to follow and the three of them reappear infront of the command center. "i wonder where lords Danyael and Rhiyou are.", Jandra thinks to herself outloud. Quickly noticing Rhiyou, she gives him a wave and approaches. Grin and Gale look at the barracks and chose to remain still where the city winds can wash over them both. "I wish I could tell you exactly what we are up against, but I am not the best person to ask. Cameron - the man who assigned me to watch over you - would be the most qualified to answer that question. I have little doubt that he intends to do so. What I do know is thus: we are facing what appears to be a tyrant of epic proportions. I have seen his soul, and it is corrupt and malignant, and he feeds off the innocent souls of others. He is clearly exceptionally powerful. I also have little doubt that he commands a very large retinue of followers." However, we have faced many terrible challenges in the past, and I have confidence that together, we will be able to conquer them again." More quietly, but still barely within hearing range, Soul Reaver continues. His tone seems darker than before. "Of course, most of the recent challenges I could face with Asaki by my side..." Giving a smirk towards kitharsis, masking his annoyance with Arhra. "And to top it off, i've had my fair share of patience with Arhra. Despite being an old friend, he can sometimes be too much to handle." Taking a look at Kitharsis' skeletons, whom appear to be lined up in a militaristic fashion, The ancient chuckles at the site, somewhat lifting his mood. "They seem like they're quite helpful." Giving a smile to Kitharsis, he turns his attention to the comand center. Then, looking back at his comrade, gestures for him to follow. "Come. I'm sure we'll have more time to talk after our departure. The name's Kartzeh, by the way. Lord Rhiyou Kartzeh."

This operation seems to be rather unstable. I do not doubt Cameron, but there are too many new and unexplained factors that have just recently been thrown into the mix. I can't say that I am not worried about things a little. "I know that I can rely on my skeletons to protect me and anyone I ask them to. They do come in quite handy, although when not in battle they take it upon themselves to do the oddest things. "The others seem to be arriving. I do hope that we get some more information about our cause for being here. I hear so much about the Eye of Terror yet no one has explained what it is exactly. I suppose things will be unveiled in time." Kitharsis walks alongside Rhiyou and waits for the rest of the stragglers. >-----------------------------Meanwhile---------------------------------< Kelvack pats the dragon once it settles down in his arms. He liked little creatures. It was just something he dug. "There there little fella, we'll lave lots of fun pretty soon!" He walks into the command center and paces around, trying to play with the little dragon as he walks... His head is still that of a dragon.

She rips the mask off and takes in a gasping breath, kneeling down to grasp at the ground for steadiness. Her bloodshot gaze goes to the gate before her and she heaves in her breaths, determined to make it through. She swallows and tries to calm her stressed body by inhaling deeply and letting a stream of air blow out of her lips. Her fingers pry the mask back onto her face and she stands slowly. Giving a small nod to Kari and Garr, she walks into the portal without help.

"Asaki is... was my apprentice. She is no longer travelling with me." Soul Reaver's tone makes it fairly clear that this is a senstive subject... and it is also clear to Natalya that there is a lot that Soul Reaver has left unsaid.

As they approach the command center, Rhiyou can't help but even marvel at the terran's unique architecture. "Very interesting, isn't it? For human architecture, of course." "Indeed. The Terrans are quite a resourceful bunch of kids, aren't they?" Arhra fades into vision as his cloak of invisibility seems to melt and burn away, revealing the crone lord to the ancient and the unarmed warrior. Rhiyou can't help but agree with Arhra. But he was fearful for the reactions from the marines. The dark Eldar weren't exactly on their good behavior list. "You're going to behave, right?" "Oh, of course!" Arhra gives a sardonic grin immediately after his reply to Rhiyou. "Now why don't i believe that?" "Because you're an ancient. And ancients are very prone to being cautious." "Yeah...that would be why." "I give you my solemn vow that i won't attack, maim, or kill anyone. Except those that attack me first. If i am not attacked, then i will not attack back. You know my word is my bond, old friend." "You still owe me a cup of tea from two centuries ago...." "Alright alright! We'll handle that after the battle, ok?" "Alright." Arhra turns his attention to Kitharsis, whom he is well aware may not trust the dark eldar very much. And he more than likely had good reason not to trust Arhra. He scolds himself mentally. "My name is Kitharsis. I have seen and heard many things about you, forgive me if I am not overly friendly. But if you claim to be our ally, then I shall honor that." But not without keeping my guard up. He thinks to himself afterwards.

Posts: 3771 Sep 26 03 7:39 PM Angel of Redemption God-General More My Recent Posts	As Tamrissa plunges into the gate, Kari and Garr follow her, although Garr pauses to make sure no one has entered the now locked chamber behind them. As Tamrissa emerges from the opposite side of the gate, a powerful wave of both elemental and warp energy hits her simultaneously. The view before her is rather strange. They are in what looks to be an ancient chamber. It looks as if it used to be some kind of church. Stone pews run down either side of the chamber, and broken stained glass windows run down either wall. Nothing can be seen through the stained glass windows but rubble. The chamber extends about 40 feet (about 11 meters) forward, and then ends abruptly, as if something cut the chamber clean in half. Half a pew dangles out of the opening. Through the opening Pieces of other buildings can be seen floating in multi-colored clouds of warp energy. The clouds swirl and change color rapidly. Cameron walks cautiously to the edge of the chamber and looks around. He then waves the others forward. "Nothing out here this time. I think we're safe." Kari is the first to step forward. "This place fell apart once we stopped coming and checking up on it." Mary joins Karyl at the edge. Karyl wanders around amongst the stone pews, as if he is looking for something. Garr stays at Tamrissa's side. "My lady, Make sure you stay with one of us. Getting lost here would be your doom." Garr waits for Tamrissa to follow before moving forward.

He takes special note of Soul and Natalya, noticing that they seem to have become fairly friendly. Igtenos also takes note of the arrival of Arhra. There are actually no other marines nearby, as the lobby is virtually empty of any military prescreens other then Igtenos. Igtenos steps into the middle of the lobby and clears his throat. "Is everyone here? The briefing starts in 10 minutes."

Inwardly he regrets having let his feelings break through... besides revealing what he felt, it also made him painfully aware of just what his own feelings really were. "There is not need to apologise. But there is little more to be said." Again, it is obvious to Natalya that this is not really the truth - Soul Reaver's dismissiveness speaks volumes about the importance of this subject to him. However, further thoughts are interrupted when Igtenos speaks. "I am prepared for this briefing - I hope our situation will be made clear at last."

After Igtenos speaks Kawanua stands next to soul in a bit of a confused state. " Yeah um, pardon my interuption but what is going on? What briefing? " Slightly muddled with what is happening Kawanua scratches his head trying to figure out what is actually going ot has happened. Shenba on the other hand keeps her eyes on Natalya, she sensed her daemon brethren the moment the girl stepped in the door. Though Shenba remains quiet she keeps her eyes on natalya while tapping on the chairs arm rest. My Heart belongs to one woman, and only she can cure the burden that i carry within me. She looks over at Igtenos and nods. "I am also ready for this, if I'm going to be a part of it." She says to him. Natalya then feels eyes on her and looks over at Shenba and smiles slightly. "Hello again." She says to her. "It is good to see that I'm not the only one here..." She says with a faint smile on her face.
