Just as Fei's message is received by the others, a tremor rocks the city. A surge of tremendous power rips through the desert, and there is a massive explosion of sand and dirt behind Fei. As the dust clears, the Hive Tyrant unfurls its wings and roars, lifting its face towards the sky. The remaining Tyranids roar in response. The Tyrant then looks back down at Fei, Soul Reaver, and Danyael. This time the Tyrant's voice is not heard within the companion's heads, but can be heard by each of the companions as though the Tyrant were right next to them.
Not since the merging have my powers been tested so! I thank you for it. I was growing weary of devouring worlds without any real resistance. But now... Now I show you what I have become.
There is a flash, and suddenly everyone on the battlefield can see an image of the Hive Tyrant, with two glowing figures hovering in front of him. One is clad in full Space Marine armor and carries a mighty axe. The figure holds a sealed tome in its other hand, and it grins wickedly. It appears to be a Space Marine Librarian. The other figure is alien, and would only be instantly recognized by Arhra or the Space Marines nearby. It is an Eldar, clad in full ceremony garb. Standing behind the front lines of Marines, Cameron instantly recognizes it as an Eldar Farseer. With another flash, the image is gone, and only the grinning Tyrant remains, a bright aura of power swirling around its massive form. When it speaks again, it speaks only to Soul, Fei, and Danyael.
So now you see. When I absorbed the human psionic and the elder fortune teller, I became unstoppable. I can see every move you are about to make. And I can bring all the powers of the horde to bear anywhere I choose. BEHOLD!
The Tyrant unfurls its wings, and the four Tyranid Warriors that have gathered below it suddenly find their melee claws pulsing with warp energy. They each study their claws for a moment, and then the four warriors grin in understanding. Turning around, the four Warriors slash at thin air, and their claws tear gaping holes into reality. The holes quickly form warp gates, and the Warriors leap to one side as hundreds of thousands of genestealers pour from the gates. Soon, the ground can no longer be seen. An endless wave of genestealers pours towards Soul, Fei, and Danyael, leaving them only about a minute to react. The Tyrant roars again, and a shield quickly surrounds the large creature.
Cameron stares out of one of the holes in the wall. A few genestealers remain inside the wall, but the Marines are in the process of moping them up. But Cameron can see the massive wave of genestealers charging. He knows that within the next two minutes, that wave will rush over the marine line as if it doesn't even exist, and no magical barriers or summoned legions will be enough to turn them aside. Cameron quickly barks an order to his troops.
"Men! Form up! If we're going to die, then we're going to die fighting! Someone find Mephiston!"
Responding to his order, the Marine Librarian suddenly bursts through the line of Marines, cleaving three genestealers in half with his force sword as he does so. Mephiston stops beside Cameron, staring out into the oncoming wave of genestealers. Cameron speaks.
"You saw the image?"
Mephiston's pure white eyes turn to regard Cameron.
"Yes. The Librarian is Tigrus. One of the Adepts of the Crimson Fists Chapter. He was lost during the battle of Armageddon. That must be where the Tyrant absorbed him."
Cameron nods.
"The other was a Farseer."
Mephiston nods, and both men begin to stride towards a part of the wall that is still standing. They continue to talk as they walk.
Mephiston: "It's going to take both of us to subdue it."
Cameron: "If both of us are enough."
Mephiston: "It will have to be. There is no one else."
Cameron: "Soul Reaver has psychic powers."
Mephiston: "Soul Reaver is tainted. I can feel it from here".
Cameron: 'Danyael might have the gift as well, but I don't know for sure."
Mephiston: "There's no time. We must act now."
Cameron: "Then let's go."
The two reach the wall. Mephiston begins climbing. Cameron touches a hand to his blade. He speaks to it, and then takes off, flying to the top of the wall.
The elementals all stop as their swords speak to them simultaneously. Anathros's voice enters Tamrissa's mind.
"We are to be drawn."
Tamrissa can suddenly feel flashes of power from many directions as all the Elemental Blades, save Anathros and Cameron's Valermos, are drawn as one. Karyl, Kari, Garr, and Mary all rush through holes in the wall and charge towards the wave of genestealers, their swords held high. Their objective is to try and reach Soul, Danyael, and Fei before they are overtaken, although it looks like they may be too late.
But something growls behind Tamrissa. It's the Tyranid Warrior that was attacking Devaron. When Devaron sunk into the ground, the Warrior had searched around in confusion, trying to find the vampire, up until Igtenos felled his brother in arms. At that point, the Tyranid Warrior had made haste to the last spot where he had sensed his fellow Warrior. Upon finding its dead body, the Tyranid had simply locked on to the nearest creature: Tamrissa.
Now the beast growls and lunges, its claws glowing with the warp energy that the Tyrant had infused into it moments before. A voice screams inside Tamrissa's head.
"Now is the time! RELEASE ME NOW!"
