In a tall spire on the central planet within the Eye of Terror, Abbadon breaks his concentration and rises, his massive suit of armour creaking slightly. The object he had given Xeno looked like a communicator, and could even be used as a communicator should Xeno require it, but it is actually a cursed item. A beacon that allows Abbadon to see and hear everything Xeno sees and hears, and to communicate with him at will if he concentrates hard enough. And Abbadon has seen and heard enough. He walks from his dark chamber and into the huge corridor that runs the entire way around the spire, from the ground to the uppermost chamber. He begins to walk, contemplating as he does so.
In a short while, Abbadon enters the massive throne room at the top o the spire. None of the skull torches around the room are lit, so the only light comes from the massive beam of warp enegry that is constantly blasting from the pit in the center of the chamber, out of a hole in the top of the chamber, and into the sky. This is the source of the Eye of Terror. The very heart of the massive warp storm that keeps this plane seperate from it's parent plane. Abbadon knows that the pit the energy is coming from runs through the center of the entire length of the spire and beyond, deep into this planet's dead core. How the Chaos Gods had started this process and gotten the dead core of a planet to begin producing and pumping warp energy was a mystery to all save the Gods themselves. And possibly the man that Abbadon has come to speak with.
Abbadon growls slightly as he shifts his gaze from the warp spire to the black throne that sits before it. A figure sits in this throne, shrouded in an unnatural darkness. Abbadon knows he is meditating on the large ancient book that sits before him, but he intterupts anyway.
"Lord Ahriman, I have urgent news from my spy on Cadia."As Abbadon speaks, two blazing purple eyes open in the center of the blackness that obscures the figure on the throne. A sinister voice speaks, not from the black shape on the throne, but as though the entire room is speaking.
"Abbadon... it is not wise to break my concentration as often as you do. Have you succeded in your mission of finding Cameron Aileron yet?"Abbadon is expecting this question.
"Yes, my lord. He is on Cadia."There is silence for a moment, and then the voice speaks again.
Yes. And so what does your "spy" report?""The cursed foundling children are massing their armies on Cadia. I've witnessed the Black Templars, the Blood Angels and the Ultramarines thus far. But it is likely that they have all arrived."There is no answer from the voice of Ahriman. Abbadon waits for a full minute, and then speaks again.
"My lord, they are planning an invasion."There is an audible sigh from the voice of Ahriman.
"Yes, Abbadon, you bring me old news. I've known of the pending invasion attempt for weeks."This news takes Abbadon by suprise.
"What??? And you never informed the Lords? You haven't recalled our outland marchers? You haven't even set up a perimiter???"Ahriman responds quickly.
"No, I have not. There is no need to. The cursed children will throw themselves at us and break themselves upon our walls. They cannot possibly hope to overcome our forces within the Eye."Abbadon growls.
"But what of Aileron? What if he has brought his warriors to Cadia? You saw the way they manhandled Khronos's forces! We must at least be prepared-"Ahriman cuts Abbadon off.
"Khronos was overcomfident, and ill prepared. We will deal with Aileron's warriors when they arrive. Abbadon, you are dismissed."The glowing eyes snap shut again. Abbadon stands still for a moment, burning with rage. He then wheels around and storms from the chamber, filled with righteous indignation. He knows that Ahriman could not possibly be that ignorant to the facts to be underestimating Aileron's force that badly. Therefore, Ahriman is simply purposely ignoring the threat. Sabatoging Chaos.
I will simply have to take matters into my own hands.Abbadon begins to brainstorm as he marches back down the long corriror, which has actually changed in appearance and door order since he came through going up. One of the features of living in the Eye.
Nothing stays the same for long.
"Please end this before it ends us."
