Posts: 3771 Apr 26 05 7:35 PM Angel of Redemption God-General More My Recent Posts	After having three of their number cut down by various sources of gunfire, the remaining 4 cultists moving to attack Deravon stop short as the methuselah lifts a car over his head, laughing. Unsure of what do do next, the cultists take a few steps back before one of them comes up with the idea of throwing a grenade at Deravon. The live grenade bounces to the feet of Deravon, and the 4 cultists break for cover. Two of them run dangerously close to the ready and waiting Diego. The other two are caught completely off guard as the dead bodies of cultists suddenly begin to fall from the sky. One lands on a cultist before he has a chance to react, and the force breaks his neck, killing him instantly. The other manages to dodge all the bodies, but is then cut down from behind by Fei's spinning blades. Another set of cultists is busy shooting at Cameron and Kitharsis from around the corner of a building. Cameron is returning fire, but the cultists are too hunkered down for him to hit. But they are suddenly showered with brick and mortar as a massive chunk of the corner of ythe building explodes outward. As the dust clears, a terrifying sight is revealed: Soul Reaver, covered in the blood of his previous enemies, raising Darkstar aloft. The cultists backpedal quickly and open fire, although two do not move fast enough and have their skulls crushed by another swing from Darkstar. Cameron sees Soul Reaver arrive and stops shooting just as he hears a shout from behind him. "I am Faidth! I will do you no harm!" Turning and moving back into the alleyway to keep himself from taking a stray bullet in the back, Cameron sees the newcomer, who is apparently known as Faidth, sprinting, diving, and rolling into the now quite cramped alley with one of the cultist's assault rifles in her hands. As she stands, she takes a quick glance at Kitharsis before speaking again. "I assume that you are the leader...I do not know why I am here, but I will help you however I can in exchange for your services to get back home... Just tell me what you need me to do..." Cameron studies Faidth for a moment. The glowing orange eyes within his helmet flash bright blue for a second as Cameron tries to perform a quick scan of Faidth's mind, but this does not go as planned. Instead, a sharp pain shoots through Cameron's mind, along with an image of a grey haired, bearded man with no eyes, wearing plain looking brown robes and a dissaproving scowl on his face. This image quickly fades. Cameron tries the scan again, but cannot sense anything at all. His eyes return to their normal orange color. Cameron is about to speak when he is interrupted by Kitharsis. He turns to face him briefly. As he speaks, his voice is transmitted through the speakers on his helmet, so when Faidth hears his voice, it sounds metallic and distorted, but it can still be made out clearly. "Kitharsis, go see if you can catch up with Soul Reaver. it looks like he could use some help." Having spoken to Kitharsis, Cameron then looks back at Faidth. "Well, Faidth... you picked a pretty bad time to drop in on us." Cameron's helmet suddenly retracts into his armor piece by piece, revealing his face. She can see now that he is actually a man, with shoulder length black hair and orange eyes. When he speaks again, his voice sounds normal and clear. "I am Lord Cameron Aileron, Force Commander of the Grey Knight's chapter of the Imperial Space Marines. We're in the middle of a huge mess here... so I don't really have too much time to help you now. But if you can help us get through to those stablizers over there beyond these warehouses, I may have more time to talk to you about your problem. of course, that's completely up to you. I have no idea what we'll face between there and here." Cameron glances back over his shoulder as another explosion rings out through the street, before looking back at Faidth and awaiting a response. The explosion was caused by Kelvack's second shot, which did manage to ignite the rest of the fuel in the old car and cause it to explode. The explosion lights up the street and kills all the cultists near it. "Please end this before it ends us." cLuTcHFieND Administrator of the Administorum

In that instant, the markings on Faidth's back and arms, for the second time that day, burnt as if they were on fire. They were obviously doing their job, though Faidth couldn't speculate as to what had just happened. Just as suddenly as they had changed, the machine man's eyes returned to the previous shade of orange. The leader finally addresses her in a very metallic and machine-like voice, after giving directions to the mohawk man, whom he calls Kitharsis. "Well, Faidth... you picked a pretty bad time to drop in on us." All of a sudden, the machine man's head pops off... Well, that was what it looked like. Rather, Faidth realized that her initial thought of a life force within had been correct. This creature was not a machine after all, but a being in appearance, not so unlike herself. Faidth's next feeling is quite indescribable. Upon beholding the leader in his true form, she is filled with a certain ease, rivalling that of her initial reaction to the Rangela. Peace...Calm... and... something else? What the hrefa was that? Faidth scowls at herself as the leader continues. "I am Lord Cameron Aileron, Force Commander of the Grey Knight's chapter of the Imperial Space Marines. We're in the middle of a huge mess here... so I don't really have too much time to help you now. But if you can help us get through to those stablizers over there beyond these warehouses, I may have more time to talk to you about your problem. of course, that's completely up to you. I have no idea what we'll face between there and here." Faidth briefly considers, then responds, "Where is this 'stabilizer' contraption that you must get to?"

Leaning out quickly, he points up the street. About 4 blocks up, a huge wall can be seen. "if you can see that wall out there... the stablizers are beyond that." Cameron returns his gaze to Faidth. He grins slightly. "Unfortunately, as you can see, I don't really have much time to wait, so make your decision quickly." "if you can see that wall out there... the stablizers are beyond that." Faidth leans towards the corner of the alleyway. She sees the wall and turns back towards Lord Aileron. He continues: "Unfortunately, as you can see, I don't really have much time to wait, so make your decision quickly." Faidth pauses only briefly before responding. "I will get you as close as I can. Prepare to move VERY quickly..." Faidth does not wait for him to respond. She closes her eyes, and with her minds eye, focuses on the spray of bullets about to come out of the weapons of the attackers Her mind searches for the components The bullets are made of carbon! Good! I can work with that! What else? Sulfur Too stinky manganese no silicon! Thats it! Faidth extends her arms, focusing all her energies towards the bullets Here it goes She can feel out the elements she calculatedly rearranges the arrangement of the atoms within the steel, making the silicon more prominent. I hope this works Suddenly, the bullets firing from the guns of the attackers explode at the transfigured position of the silicon. She keeps her hands outstretched towards the attackers, holding her focus as much as she can. Her eyes remain closed as she calls to Cameron: Go! I cant hold them for too long! Please, hurry!

Posts: 3771 Apr 26 05 8:34 PM Angel of Redemption God-General More My Recent Posts	As Cameron watches in amazement, all the cultists who are currently firing their weapon are thrown back violently as the bullets explode upon exiting their weapons. This kills or injures almost every single cultist who isn't currently engaged with Soul Reaver. Seeing the opportunity, Cameron quickly charges out of the alleyway, his helmet once again appearing on his head. He sprints towards the next block, calling out to the others as he runs. "COME ON EVERYONE!!! NOW'S OUR CHANCE TO BREAK THROUGH!" As Cameron moves, he can hear more gunfire and the sounds of fighting from the other side of the stablizers. He can hear a momentary lack of gun fire and looks around to see Clutchfiend moving from the allyway. "COME ON EVERYONE!!! NOW'S OUR CHANCE TO BREAK THROUGH!" He hears Clutchfiend yell and gets moving straight away. Leaping to his feet and slinging his rifle over his back he starts running towards the wall keeping low and using as much cover as possable. He knows he is not nearly the fastest person but moves as fast as he can hoping more of the compainions will get to the wall before him cause he has no idea what to do when he gets there. "Ford" "Yes?" "...Whats this fish doing in my ear?"

Posts: 1675 Apr 27 05 2:46 AM The Immortal Brigadier General More My Recent Posts	After smashing the first two cultists, Soul Reaver turns to face the rest. They are quickly backing away, firing their weapons. The shimmering sphere of the Protection from Missiles spell flares a bright white almost constantly from the concentrated, short-ranged barrage, and even it fails to keep all the bullets out. Soul Reaver winces visibly as a few stray bullets penetrate the barrier and ricochet off his magically protected, rock-hard skin. Small chips of skin fly off his face occasionally, drawing tiny drops of blood. These opponents must indeed be using high-calibre weaponry. However, Soul Reaver would not stand for such isolence for long. Raising his hands high above his head, he begins to chant, bullets still flying all around him. His anger allows him to use the Warlock energies he is summoning all the more successfully, and he belts out the words of the spell one after another, savouring the pain that each one will contribute to. Four thin columns of fire spring up around Soul Reaver, hovering just above the ground, and begin to rotate around him. The colums thicken and grow, and begin to swirl ever faster, turning into four spirals of roaring flame. Their heat is intense - floating dust particles a metre away from Soul Reaver are igniting in mid-air already. Despite the heat, Soul Reaver himself seems totally unharmed. He is not even breaking a sweat. Then, as the columns are spinning so fast as to be lying more vertical than horizontally, Soul Reaver pronounces the last words of the Burning Helix spell, and extends his hands. In rapid succession, all four colums roar outwards from his hands and towards the cultists, each one forming a rolling crescent wave of fiery death. Concrete erupts and explodes as the immense heat passes over it, and steel supports melt and run like candle wax...

Feeling somewhat ineffective in such a wide-open area, but also unwilling to use his powers against such weak opponents, he has little choice but to tag along after Diego as he makes a run for the rest of the companions. Leaping back onto his feet, Sepher runs alongside Diego, his Katana in his hands, and his eyes locked on his destination.

Diego smiles. The two run on towards the Stabilizers which are looming ever closer. "You know what we do once we get to the wall? Cause I haven't got a clue." He laughs and looks back just in time to duck some flying concreate from some explosion way back by Soul Reaver. "He had better get moving soon or he will be left behind... I'm sure he knows what he is doing" "Ford" "Yes?" "...Whats this fish doing in my ear?"

She sees a vision flash before her A memory Marius On Fyra During her training It seemed so long ago Just a few years Faidth had just finished performing this same maneuver on a piece of discarded steel. Faidth had made the mistake of using the sulfur Marius house reeked for days I cannot do this Marius I cannot. You must, my child. You remember the Stun? And how angry you got when you couldnt do that the first time? YesAnd now I do just fine. Marius smiled warmly and patted her on the head, Yes child, you do. Now you must do the same. Try again, child. Whatever you do, and no matter how far away from me you are, always remember: You bear within you the hopes of our people Never lose that hope Always remember, you are a champion. Faidth opened her eyes again. They stung with tears She scolded herself. A fine time to pass out Faidth Fyra! No time for nostalgia now She crept forward, peeking again around the corner. She scooped her discarded weapon off the ground before again coming into the thralls of the battle.

Dodging bullets as he runs towards him, he notices the build up of mana around his friend. He seems to be casting a rather powerful spell. I don't think it would be wise to approach him right now... And indeed it wasn't, as Soul Reaver lets loose his columns of fire Kitharsis watches as they melt away anything that stands in their path. After the spell had run its length, Kitharsis yells, "Soul Reaver, Faidth has stopped the cultist's gunfire somehow..." It was actually quite amazing. I felt so many small spikes of power all at once. She is a curious thing... He thinks to himself. "We must make our way to the stabilizers, I'm sure more of these mutants will be coming shortly, and we will need our strength for the battles ahead. Come." He motions for him to follow him as he starts running after Cameron, but he notices Faidth collapsed in the alleyway. "Go on ahead, I shall see if this woman need assistance." Not waiting to see if Soul Reaver had followed what he said he runs over to Faidth as she comes out of the alley. "Do you need help? I am able to carry you if your legs fail you. What you just did to those bullets must have taken a lot out of you. There is no shame in taking help when it is needed." He extends a hand to her offering his assistance.

She is quite surprised to see the extent of the damage her Atom Transfiguration had managed to inflict upon the enemies. All of a sudden, the mohawked man with the strange markings appeared next to her. What did Lord Aileron call him?... Kitharsis... He speaks to her: "Do you need help? I am able to carry you if your legs fail you. What you just did to those bullets must have taken a lot out of you. There is no shame in taking help when it is needed." He extends his hand to her to offer assistance. Faidth closes her eyes to get a better sense of him. Sensing nothing too evil or dangerous, she gladly accepts this gesture. "Those things... the 'stablizers'... we must get there..." She leans against Kitharsis, still quite exhausted by the Transfiguration.

He thinks to himself as Faidth allows herself to lean on him. He gathers her up in his arms, she is so light to him that he glances down to make sure she is even there. "We will make it to the stabilizers together. I find no feelings of evil when I look at you, and you give me no reason not to trust you. Even so, be warned that if you do cross me, I will not be merciful." He says in a stern tone, but if you had listened carefully, there is a hint of doubt when he speaks of her betraying him. As if he knew that she would not. Making sure the coast is clear, he sprints after the others. Keeping mindful of Faidth in his arms, he hunches over so that she would not be in danger if any cultists had found a working weapon.

The angel is quick to take to the sky and follows behind Clutchfiend. Looking down he spots Kitharsis running, holding someone. Jharm realizes then that it is the female stranger. Unsure if she is injured or not, Jharm is quick to send a message to Kitharsis. Kitharsis, it is Jharm. Is your friend there injured? Jharm continues to follow the group from the air as he waits for an answer. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End" Revelations 21:6 "Damn the brocolli, damn you, and damn the Wright brothers!" - Stewie (from Family Guy)

Posts: 232 Apr 29 05 1:05 PM Alter-Ego Character More My Recent Posts	Deravon is about the hurl the decrepit car at the cultists, but before he can, some of the cultists throw grenades at him. The vampire is quick to dispose of the car by hurling it off to the side and crosses his arms in front of his face. Nothing can be seen in the explosion created by the grenades. As the dust clears, it becomes evident that this time, by the fact that Deravon's mask is still present, that his Beast is not in control. The vampire is about to tear into the cultists, when he realizes that all of the cultists are dead, and that almost all of their guns are destroyed. What the hell did I miss? "COME ON EVERYONE!!! NOW'S OUR CHANCE TO BREAK THROUGH!" The vampire watches as Cameron races towards the next block. Deravon refrains from running after him and instead leaps up to the top of the nearest building, and follows Clutchfiend from the rooftops. We never paid any heed to the ancient prophecies. Like fools, we clung to the old hatreds and fought as we had for generations ---until the day the sky rained fire and a new enemy came upon us. We stand now upon the brink of destruction. For the Reign of Chaos has come at last...

She needs some rest from after disposing of those cultists with her technique... Once we reach the stabilizers I will allow you to tend to her if you are able to. We cannot waste time in the open and risk another attack. With telling Jharm this Kitharsis speeds up, shortening the distance between himself and Faidth from the wall between them and the stabilizers.

Marius is looking at her smiling. He is surrounded by shimmering white light, so bright, that Faidth's mind's eye burns as if being nearly blinded. His lips part as he forms words. "Well done, my child. You must help these companions... It is a necessity if you are ever to return to Fyra. By helping them, you will be helping your people, and you will be helping me. Stay with the mowhawked man. He is very powerful, and can be trusted. You will find him a great ally. He and the Rangela can be of great service to you. The others, I caution you to be wary of... Especially the Soul Reaver... A darkness dwells in him... He, himself, is not evil, but there is a trail of tears that follows him." Marius smiles again, as if reading Faidth's mind. "Ah... You wonder about Lord Aileron...Those eyes... a certain familiarity..." In that instant, Marius' eyes glow bright orange before returning to their normal brown and orange. "He possesses the key Faidth... He will light your path, and lead you from out of the darkness, and back to home... Remember these words Faidth. All will happen in due time..." Suddenly, Marius' eyes grow wide with fear. Blood is splashed across his face, and a large gash appears on his cheek. His hands cross over his chest, as streams of blood flow through his strong fingers. "Wake up, Faidth! Wake up!" Faidth's eyes shoot open. The orange in her eyes have completely enveloped the brown. A surge of emotion and energy shoots through Faidth, restoring her a great deal. Her body shakes violently, and the markings on her back burn as if someone is holding a flame directly on her skin. Faidth's body grows still again. Once again, she becomes aware of Kitharsis, still clutching her as he is thundering towards the stablizers. "Kitharsis... Something is coming! Something is coming! We must hurry!"

And a sinister force from within the Eye watches their progress through his eyes. "I see... so that's your idea. I told him you were coming, and he just would not listen." Abbadon is sitting in a stone chair in a dark chamber, somewhere within the Chaos Spire. He is concentrating on the amulet that connects him to Xeno, which is floating in front of him. he stands and extends his arms towards the amulet, and his eyes glow crimson. "Fine. I will take matters into my own hands!!!" A flash of lightning shoots between Abbadon's hands and the amulet... Back on the battlefield, Xeno hears a voice in his mind. *Xeno, thank you for your services. Your job is done. Look to your left, and claim your payment, as promised. It was a pleasure working with you.* A cultists runs out of a building to Xeno's left and drops a briefcase. he runs away, and Xeno quickly drops for the briefcase, losing sight of the companions. Just as Cameron is about to reach the wall, 4 warp gates rip open in front of him. He stops short as a voice that is familiar to both Cameron and Soul Reaver, as well as Kawanua, rings through the companions heads. "FOOLS! You will come no closer to the Eye! This ends HERE!" There is an unholy scream as 40 warp wraiths charge from the 4 open gates. They charge the companions with bone scimitars held high, screeching their onholy screams and intent on tearing the companions limb from limb. Concern is written on his face, and he was about to alert Jharm about what was happening until she speaks. "Kitharsis... Something is coming! Something is coming! We must hurry!" He frowns, before saying, "We will arrive there as quickly as possible." His legs push them faster and he holds Faidth more closely as to keep her from being jostled. They had nearly caught up with Cameron before 4 warp gates rip open in front of them. A menacing voice screams to Kitharsis's mind before forty creatures start pouring out of the gates. Kitharsis's boots scrape across the asphalt, sparks flying as metal grinds against manufactured stone. "Faidth!" He says, "are you able to protect yourself? I noticed a surge of energy in you when you woke." He starts backing away from the creatures, unsure of the safety of their current position...

Shattered concrete and molten steel lie everywhere, smoke rising from the blackened remains. The cultists are now nothing more than floating particles of fine ash - even their bones exploded and crumbled under the intense heat. The Protection from Missiles spell, its powers finally spent, flickers and dies. No matter - it sounded like he would not need it again for now. Soul Reaver quickly extends his hand and absorbs their souls before they disappear, giving a pleased smile as he does so. He hears Kitharsis' message and breaks into a run. He breathes the words of a simple Agility spell, and his legs pump him forward at surprising speed. He soon catches up, so that he is just behind Kitharsis. He halts suddenly as Kitharsis does the same, hearing the familiar voice of his foe echoing in his mind. Abbadon?! Warp Gates tear open and a mass of howling Warp Wraiths charge out, bone scimitars clutched in their hands. Soul Reaver takes up position adjacent to Kitharsis. Darkstar is in his hands and is already spinning. Black, smoky wisps of energy swirl behind the spinning ball and chain, growing ever thicker as Darkstar's speed increases. Soon it is little more than a disc of shadows. As several Wraiths close in his and Kitharsis' position, Soul Reaver unleashes a spray of black energy bolts from the spinning Darkstar, aimed at the incoming Wraiths. A hit would have enough force to blast them off their feet and hurl them several metres backwards.
