Posts: 70 Apr 30 05 12:30 PM Private 1st Class More My Recent Posts	Kitharsis answers Faidth's rather hysterical pleas."We will arrive there as quickly as possible." He thunders onward, clutching her to his massive chest. He speaks again. "Faidth!" He says, "are you able to protect yourself? I noticed a surge of energy in you when you woke." Faidth's senses go wild as she realizes the peril of their situation. She lets out a scream as the markings on her back burn furiously. Out of nowhere, skeletal creatures can be seen before them, pouring out of four openings. It was as if the world had experienced huge tears in its composition, and these creatures were just flowing through them like the blood from a wound. Faidth collects herself and responds to Kitharsis' question. "Yes, thank you. I am quite able I believe." She rolls out of his massive arms, landing on her feet. Faidth carefully evaluates the situation, knowing that there is little damage her Skeerya could inflict upon these bony predators. The Soul Reaver catches her eye close by, and her senses indicate the presence of Lord Aileron not far off. Damn it! What the hrefa am I supposed to do against these things. Faidth stamps her foot in frustration, as she realizes there may be something yet. She knew that she may tire herself again, but somehow, she felt it wouldn't be as bad as before. Somehow, she knew that she was not alone in this battle. Marius would protect her. Faidth glanced over and noticed that the Soul Reaver was casting some kind of magic over the enemies closeby. Faidth concentrates on the enemies beyond that, the ones still close to the gates. She outstretches her arms towards them. Her eyes are consumed with bright orange, as it swallows the brown of her iris. She concentrates again, praying to her God for assistance. Guide my attack, oh Lord. Fail me not. Her eyes drop from the attackers to focus on the ground under them. Asphalt. What is this made of? Hmm... Sand... No, can't do too much with that. Oil... Hmm... could be useful... Tar... That's it! She focuses on the tar, pulling it to the surface of the asphalt atoms, hoping that the skeletal legs of the creatures would fuse to the sticky substance, incapacitating them until something could be done to destroy them. It might not destroy them... but at least it will deter them until someone can... ((OOC))

Posts: 739 Apr 30 05 6:44 PM Seraphim Captain More My Recent Posts	Jharm nods as Kitharsis tells him that Faidth is only tired. He continues to follow the group until 4 warp gates open up and an evil voice echoes through the angels mind. The pure evilness of the voice seems to shake Jharm for a second, but he recovers as he sees the warp wraiths come charging out of the portals. He quickly sends a message to Deravon. Deravon, you must protect Faidth, she exhausted herself during the last battle with the cultists and I fear that she will not be able to defend herself if those creatures go after her. He then quickly flies towards the ground and lands in front of the far left portal (from the companions perspective). He then raises his hands at the wraiths coming from it and begins to chant a prayer. Again his voice seems to echo upon the wind and is in the same language as before. As he continues to chant the spell his hands begin to radiate with a golden glow. All of a sudden 2 golden beams shoot from his palms and slam into the group of wraiths in front of him. Posts: 232 Apr 30 05 6:51 PM Alter-Ego Character More My Recent Posts	Deravon follows Clutchfiend until the warp gates open and an evil voice speaks to him. At first he is worried that his Beast has resurfaced until he realizes that this voice is more evil then his Beast ever could be. As the wraiths come pouring out of the warp gates, Deravon recieves Jharms message. Deravon, you must protect Faidth, she exhausted herself during the last battle with the cultists and I fear that she will not be able to defend herself if those creatures go after her. Deravon nods, even though he doubts Jharm can see it. In the blink of an eye, the vampires muscles appear to have grown slightly larget, giving him even more strength. He then rushes over and places himself between Faidth and the incoming warp wraiths. Do not worry, I have been instructed to see that they do no harm to you, and I shall not fail. We never paid any heed to the ancient prophecies. Like fools, we clung to the old hatreds and fought as we had for generations ---until the day the sky rained fire and a new enemy came upon us. We stand now upon the brink of destruction. For the Reign of Chaos has come at last...

Posts: 282 Apr 30 05 7:39 PM Sergeant More My Recent Posts	He notes Diegos questions and responds just a quickly "Well, if you call running around and hacking things to pieces fun, then heck yeah!" he lets out a small laugh" The two run on towards the Stabilizers which are looming ever closer. in response to diegos question "have no idea, really, im jut following at the moment" he dodges some bits of concrete, and diego speaks "He had better get moving soon or he will be left behind... I'm sure he knows what he is doing" sepher replies "Yeah, he seems like a resourceful fellow" Just as he speaks, there is a horrible feeling in the air. Wraith, the likes he had never seen. Before he can react, one had warped to the position in front of him and began swinging at him violently. He dodges, but barely, the cold of the wraith seeping into him. He brings his katana up defensivly "Watch out diego!!!" ~If I must die, I will encounter darkness as a bride, and hug it in mine arms"~

Not taking any chances, Kitharsis steps ahead of her as to provide her some protection. Then he feels something. Suddenly all around him he feels the heat of the desert and the warmth of the sand. But as quickly as it came, it was gone. Kitharsis frowns, something was happening here. The tar on the ground rises under the wraiths, and Kitharsis raises an eyebrow. Turning around he notices Faidth's eyes glowing orange, a look of concentration on her face. Keeping an eye on the advancing wraiths, he asks her, "What did you just do a moment ago? I felt... I felt the desert sand underneath my feet. I have an affinity for the sand, if you were able to seperate it from its bonds I could use it." I always did feel something small when I was around this substance, but it was never strong enough for me to reach it...

Posts: 70 May 1 05 4:31 PM Private 1st Class More My Recent Posts	Faidth continues to concentrate on the mass of asphalt beneath the bony feet of the oncoming wraiths. All of a sudden, she notices the creature from earlier, the monster, coming towards her. Though there is an essence of evil within him, somehow, Faidth cannot find it within herself to dislike him. She reminds herself, after all, he had never done her any personal injury. Rather, it had been the Soul Reaver he had been so intent on destroying. He puts himself between her and the creatures pouring out of the gates. His words reach her. "Do not worry, I have been instructed to see that they do no harm to you, and I shall not fail." Another appears close by. It is Kitharsis. He addresses her as her hands remain outstretched towards the ground under the gate beings."What did you just do a moment ago? I felt... I felt the desert sand underneath my feet. I have an affinity for the sand, if you were able to seperate it from its bonds I could use it." "Sand... Yes..." Faidth's eyes burn brighter, and the markings on her back continue to tingle. She holds one hand out towards the ground under the wraiths, and uses the other to make a stirring motion. Marius had taught her how to enable several elements within atoms by such a technique. The ground under the wraiths continues to ooze and melt as her other hand summons the sand to the surface of the asphalt. After several seconds, a considerable layer of sand has emerged from the depths of the asphalt. She speaks without looking at him, in attempts to keep concentrating on her rather difficult task. "I hope this may suit you in some way."

Posts: 3771 Jul 9 05 11:16 PM Angel of Redemption God-General More My Recent Posts	The first of the wraiths closing in on the companions are met with the supercharged energy bolts that are unleashed from Soul Reaver's weapon. 5 wraiths are hurled backwards violently, and they land in a heap just in front of the four still open warp gates. They attempt to get back up, but suddenly find themselves enveloped in tar. The other charging wraiths also find their progress slowed as the asphalt underneath them is turned to tar by Faidth's craft. One group of 4 wraiths was just outside of the radius of the tar when it started forming, but upon being struck by the beams of light from Jharm, they are filled with a temporary blinding fear and charge back the way they came, running right back into the tar and becoming stuck. Only three small groups of wraiths manage to escape the tar and contonue charging. The first group, consisting of 6 wraiths, charges straight at Deravon, Kitharsis, and Faidth. The second group, consisting of 4 wraiths, selects a different target and charges at Soul Reaver, bone scimitars held aloft. The third group, bigger then the other two, consists of 15 wraiths. They pause and concentrate for a moment, and soon all the wraiths have detected the magic being worked by Faidth as the source of the rest of the wraith's sticky problem. They quickly find her, but see two large warriors standing in front of her. Moving quickly, one of the wraiths makes an inhuman leap to the top of the nearest building. The others see this and follow suit. With all 15 wraiths now perched on the top of the building, the first wraith leaps to another nearby building, and then back down to the street, landing behind the companions. All but one of the wraiths follows. The straggling wraith had just noticed Kelvack on a nearby rooftop and now moves to engage him. Kelvack is startled as a wraith suddenly lands next to him, scimitar brandished and ready to strike. 8 of the remaining 14 wraiths who are now back on the ground begin to race towards the exposed backs of Faidth, Kitharsis, and Deravon. The other 6 have spotted Fei standing nearby and are quickly moving to engage him. THe 8 remaining wraiths have almost reached their target when they are interrupted. Cameron landsb etween the wraiths and Faidth with his swords drawn. The force of his armor's impact with the ground leaves a small crater, and causes the oncomming wraiths to stumble slightly. The blades in Cameron's hands glow white hot as he allows his elemental magic to course through them. A mettalic snarl escapes the helmet speakers of is armor as he charges, intending to stop as many of the creatures as he can from reaching the companions behind him. Turning back to face the wall he skids to a halt unsure of what the rifts infront of him were. A few heartbeats passed as he stood confused then he saw the wraiths emerge and he turned to his left and bolted to some cover. Diego peeped over the top of some fallen depris and he saw the battle field infront of him. Slinging his Winchester he took aim on one of the Wraiths up on the roofs, aiming first for the kneck area, then for the feet hoping that it would knock it off the roof. He dropped back down below the fallen concrete and watched through a gap, watching to see if he was needed, watching to make sure he wasn't left behind. "Ford" "Yes?" "...Whats this fish doing in my ear?"

Although a more tactically beneficient use of his abilities might have been possible, Soul Reaver feels a strong compulsion to tackle his opponents in melee and teach them a harsh lesson. Thus, Soul Reaver quickly breathes an incantation, causing his already sizeable muscles to bulge further as a supernatural strength fills him. With Darkstar already whirling, Soul Reaver waits until the last possible moment before launching a counter-charge against the Wraiths. Darkstar leaves ribbons of swirling black energy in mesmerizing patterns in the air as Soul Reaver enters the battle. He fights with a deadly combination of brute force and uncanny skill, the spiked ball seeming to be coming from everywhere at once and delivering punishing, crushing blows. The wraiths, even though they outnumber him, should be sore-pressed by such an onslaught...

Suddenly, her footing is jostled by a brief, but powerful tremor that shakes the ground. Startled, Faidth whirls around. She sees Cameron standing before her. She stares just past him, realizing that the supernatural creatures she has been trying to incapacitate had managed to sneak up on her somehow. She briefly wonders why the markings on her back failed to warn her of the advance of these creatures. As if in answer to her thoughts, Faidth's markings burn furiously. Never before have the markings been so enflamed. Faidth is reasonably distracted by this strange occurance. The markings on her back begin to bubble and glow a dim orange that suddenly erupts in a fury of flames. The flames escape through the markings, scorching their way throught the incredibly thick Borillian leather, and metal armor that Faidth is wearing. Faidth lets out a cry of surprise and near horror as the flames travel up her shoulders, over her forearms, over her hands, and finally project towards the onslaught of wraiths. Faidth's eyes pulsate, and soon the orange iris consume the brown iris, then finally the whites of her eyes. The flames continue to shoot down her torso, back, and legs until she is transformed into a walking inferno.

Keeping as far away from Faidth. Slamming her staff as hard as she can on the ground she opens her eyes to the enemy. Saying a few words in her native language before the incantation is complete. All in her path would feel an icy chill, but the enemy would feel a pericing icy wind surround them and slash at their bodies. ~To live is to die, to die is to live.~

Without responding to her he spread his arms and draws the sand towards him. It circles around him on the ground and soon is lifting into the air. It parts its path as it passes by Devaron and Faidth but closes to complete the circle once again as it goes by. Some of it gathers in his cloak, he wanted to save that for later. "Thank you, but now we must brace ourselves." He doesn't think Faidth heard him, as her back erupts in flames that launch themselves towards the approaching wraiths. Cameron has landed behind them, fending off a large group of approaching wraiths intent on striking by surprise. He turns and runs towards the group of four wraiths approaching from the front. The mass of sand follows behind him like a huge golden brown shadow. He attacks from the side punching and kicking at the wraiths with his stone-hard skin. When the wraiths strike at him, the sand surrounding him gathers together and becomes hard, blocking the attack for the most part.

He flaps his wings erraticly, taking to the air. "This blast wasn't really meant for you bud, but I suppose if you want it that badly..." He aims the barrel of his weapon directly at the wraith's torso. It was already charched, for he was drawing a bead on the eight wraiths that were approaching Faidth, Kitharsis and Devaron from behind. Cameron had gotten in the way, so he was waiting for an opportunity to unleash it. All the wraith sees is a bright yellow light before a thick beam of yellow energy shoots out of Kelvack's gun. He is sent backwards tumbling in the air from the force of it. The one wraith was given a full blast meant for eight of them, poor fella.

He then turns to see 6 wraiths charging directly towards Deravon, Kitharsis and Faidth. Seeing that Faidth is occupied, Jharm realizes that Deravon must face the ones heading for them. The holy figure quickly begins chanting and points at Deravon. The vampire senses a burst of strength not of his own and knows immediately what happened. The angel then turns back towards the wraiths currently stuck in the tar, doubting that it will hold them for long. "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

Posts: 232 Jul 11 05 4:16 PM Alter-Ego Character More My Recent Posts	Deravon watches as the wraiths split up, some working their way around until they are behind him and his companions while 6 foolishly decide to charge directly at the hulking creature. He is about to charge them when all of a sudden he feels a sudden burst of strength and realizes that his friend Jham is the cause of it. He quickly nods his thanks, then extends his claws. He turns back towards the wraiths and slams his claws into the ground, cracking the pavement. Using his claws and massive strength the vampire rips a section of the ground out and hoosts it above his head. With a mighty roar he hurls it directly at the charging wraiths. He quickly follows up the hurled projectile by charging at the center of the wraiths, with his clawed hands out to the sides. Sic vis pacem para bellum - Latin - If you want peace...prepare for war.

Posts: 70 Jul 18 05 4:09 PM Private 1st Class More My Recent Posts	Faidth cries out in surprise as she continues to be consumed by the inferno engulfing her body. She tries to cry out to Cameron to move, but in horror realizes that the blaze has reached him already. She is too late. Pieces of her leather garments disintegrate or are blown off by the force of the flames, leaving the bewildered young woman barely covered in tattered, charred, remnants of clothing. The few remaining bits of clothing are still quite aflame. Surprisingly, her lightweight metal armor is still intact. What's happening to me?! I'm going to die! Wait... Faidth calms herself slightly. I should already be dead... The flames continue to lunge towards the onslaught of wraiths, continuing to charge towards Cameron.
