All of a sudden the ground behind the wraith explodes and out of the dust cloud that is formed, the Methuselah rushes forward, releasing a bellow as he charges at the back of the wraith. Sic vis pacem para bellum - Latin - If you want peace...prepare for war.

Posts: 739 Nov 5 05 3:54 PM Seraphim Captain More My Recent Posts	As the battle continues to unfold, Jharm continues the angelic song, and watches as his team mates tear into the demonic creatures before them. The angel then spots Cameron about to be surrounded and a wraith leaping at Kitharsis, about to slice him into two. Thinking fast, he ends the song and begins another prayer, a sphere of white light forming in his right hand. At the same time, he raises his angellic blade with his left hand and flies straight at the wraiths about to surround Cameron. As he gets near Kitharsis, he releases the sphere of light at the wraith attacking him. "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

He slows as a new wraith starts trying to bat away the spikes with the broad side of his scimitar. Lips curling in anger, Kitharsis forces the spikes to scatter away from the wraith. They travel in a wide circle around Kitharsis and the wraith and stop behind Kitharsis's back. They hover there waiting to be fired, moving with Kitharsis as he approaches the wraith in an offensive fighting stance. Out of the corner of his eye he sees the third wraith leaping into the air at him. He had been too busy controlling the spikes and focusing on the second wraith that he hadn't noticed it. He raises his arm, pointing at the wraith and readying to fire a barrage of sandy spikes at it. Yet he notices as Jharm shoots out a white sphere of energy at the wraith as he flies by him. Thinking quickly Kitharsis leaps and rolls out of the leaping wraith's path. He springs to his feet just in front of the second wraith and on his ascent he brings his right arm up in a powerful uppercut. He pushes with his entire body and propels his fist towards the wraith's bony chin. The spikes circle around the wraith and Kitharsis erraticly, ensuring no more wraiths come and sneak up on him while he does his work.

Posts: 70 Nov 7 05 1:59 PM Private 1st Class More My Recent Posts	Faidth's Skeerya slices through one wraith and then another. Quite suddenly, something explodes from somewhere behind her. Her back, singed and smoking ignites again, absorbing the flame from the explosion. Pieces of shrapnel liquify in the air and slam into her skin. Faidth lets out a scream of pain as the molten metal burns into her flesh. It settles in the deep grooves that the mysterious markings have scorched into her body. Faidth scarcely has time to recover when she glimpses the one who calls himself a monster barreling towards her. She starts initially unaware of why he is sprinting in her direction. Her gaze settles on two undeads who have managed to steathily sneak up on her. Angered and in pain, she whirls around to face her foes, swiping her flaming Skeerya towards one of the enemies.

Posts: 1675 Nov 8 05 8:45 PM The Immortal Brigadier General More My Recent Posts	Soul Reaver closes on the two Wraiths blocking his path, Darkstar spinning in his hands. Having observed the Wraiths' weakness to his Flame Shield, these should not be a challenge. Then, suddenly, he hears the sound of something whipping through the air. Reacting rapidly, Soul Reaver spins around to see a curved scimitar slicing through the air towards him. With only split seconds to avoid the attack, Soul Reaver leaps into the air... ...but is too late to avoid the blade completely. The scimitar slices into one of his boots. A burning pain shoots across his ankle as a tendon is cut almost cleanly through. Soul Reaver is knocked forwards and lands awkwardly. A grunt of pain escapes his lips as his weight lands on his injured foot. Though his Flame Shield would probably still keep the Wraiths at bay for now, things were not looking good. His charge had faltered, and he was now in the midst of a mass of enemies...

Posts: 1675 Nov 13 05 2:21 AM The Immortal Brigadier General More My Recent Posts	Seven more Wraiths burst from the portals as the companions are engaged. They will have to close these or their enemies will continue pouring in endlessly! Clutchfiend presses forward, his blade slicing left and right, occassionally scoring a hit against his foes. But they are pressing in on him now, and going forward is slow and difficult. He would have to do something more drastic. His eyes begin to glow as a fiery aura surrounds his left fist. The flames leap and dance ever more erratically as his energies gather. The Wraiths are understandably alarmed, but before they can do anything, Jharm dives down at them. A Wraith's head goes flying clean off its shoulders. Good. Provided that he was careful an didn't also incinerate his friends, this should do the trick... Jharm's energy ball meanwhile strikes home. The Wraith, still in mid-air, is unable to change its trajectory. Feebly extending its hands in a defensive gesture, it is quickly consumed in bright white fire. It hits the grounds where Kitharsis had been standing as little more than hot dust. But Jharm's attacks have attracted attention, and as he swoops over the battle, scimitars slash up at him, aiming for his wings. It was obvious the Wraiths were attempting to bring the battle to him now too... Kitharsis, meanwhile, skillfully rolls forward and uppercuts the Wraith. Its jaw shatters as Kith's rock-like fist impacts with a satisfying crunch, and the Wraith lands flat on its back. Since most of the front of its head seems to be missing, it is safe to assume that it is dead. However, Kitharsis' forward roll has taken him within point-blank range of three other Wraiths, and they waste no time sending their scimitars chopping downwards toward Kitharsis. Xeno's arrival near the edge of the battle at first garners little attention. However, a Wraith soon spots him walking towards them and hefts its scimitar. A red glow begins to surround it as it approaches to intercept Xeno. Deravon bursts from the ground, and his terrifying roar causes the Wraith sneaking up on Faidth to whirl around and face its new aggressor. However, this was ill advised, as moments later, Faidth swings her Skeerya and sends another gout of flame in its direction. It is struck in the back and enveloped in flames. With all foes near Faidth and Deravon now dead, they should consider helping some of their other companions. And Soul Reaver, left wounded in the midst of his enemies, now faces a major problem. Already, the Wraiths are pressing in as close as his weapon will allow. Several raise their hands, crimson bolts of energy gathering. They prepare to unleash their magical payload on their incapacitated foe. (OOC)

Posts: 232 Nov 13 05 10:25 AM Alter-Ego Character More My Recent Posts	As the Wraith that Deravon was charging at is consumed by Faidths fiery attack, the vampire notices that Soul Reaver is completely surrounded and appears to be injured. At first the vampire seems to hesitate, as his darker sides tries to stop him from helping him, but then he seems to shrug it off. After a moment of concentrating, Deravons arms seem to slowly bulk up as blood rushes through them, increasing his strength even more. He then bends down and picks up the scimitar from the fallen wraith and with another roar, charges right at the center of the wraiths attacking Soul Reaver, hoping to distract them enough to stop their spells in time. Posts: 739 Nov 13 05 10:35 AM Seraphim Captain More My Recent Posts	As Jharms flies over the wraiths, he can feel the scimitars passing near him, and all of a sudden a sharp pain tears through his right wing as one of the blades strikes home, cutting into his wings. He releases a cry of pain that can be heard across the battlefield, bring sorrow to all the hearts that hear it. With only one wing uninjured, the angel spins out of control and veers off to the side, crashing into the ground and rolling a short distance. He struggles to his feet and turns to face the evil demons that are responsible for striking him down. Even though nothing is visible under the angels helmet, anyone that happened to be paying attention can almost sense the sheer fury resonating from the holy being. Without uttering a word, Clutchfiend and Jharm are surrounded in glowing golden shields. The angel then raises his hands towards the heavens and begins to chant, the sounds echoing from everywhere. Unlike the rest of his prayers, this one sounds...harsh and uncomfortable to ones ears. As the chant continues, the angels hands begins to glow and then suddenly burst into white flames. Upon this happening, the Seraphim aims his palms at the wraiths and unleashes a massive wave of angellic fire upon the demonic hordes before him. The shield surrounding Cameron is strong enough to protect him from this holy wrath, but the same can not be said for the wraiths. The snarl of the monster man was enough to distract the wraith, allowing Faidth to attack from behind. As her foe falls, the monster man quickly changes direction, tearing across the fray towards another comrade. Faidth focuses her eyes towards the fallen figure, hoping it is not the kindly Lord Aileron. Faidth realizes it is the Soul Reaver, the one whose very presence is unsettling to her. Should I help? Faidth deliberates for only a moment, her thoughts interrupted by a scream that seems to tear through the very fibers of the sky. The cry seems to stab straight through Faidth's heart, nearly moving her to tears. Such a cry could not have come from any of these horrid undead creatures. It was too pure, too divine. No, the cry could only have come from one of the comrades. The Rangela... Faidth's feet propel her forward, thundering through the fray. She pauses only briefly as she is engaged by a dying creature, who claws at her leg from where he lies nearly lifeless on the ground. She stomps her foot down on his bony arm and continues to seek out the bearer of the scream. She finally gains a visual of the heavenly being, just as he begins to chant some incantation. His words are heavy and uncomfortable, tinged with anger and pain. Faidth notices Lord Aileron, safely protected by some kind of shield the Rangela has managed to procure. Faidth keeps her distance, as she is unaware of what the angel's attack will do. She ducks behind a large chunk of twisted metal that lies smoldering nearby. As if in answer to her pondering, the angel's hands glow violently, producing the brightest white flame she has ever seen. She watches the angel, readying herself to assist as soon as his heavenly magic has run its full course.

Posts: 3771 Nov 16 05 2:53 PM Angel of Redemption God-General More My Recent Posts	Just as the wraiths surrounding Soul Reaver are about to unleash their spells, they are disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Deravon. The startlled wraiths all turn their attention away from Soul Reaver to face the new threat, but the distraction is more then enough to disrupt their spellcasting. 5 of the wraiths lose their spells completely, the red energy fading from their hands as their heads jerk towards Deravon. Two wraiths manage to redirect their spells at Deravon himself, and dark red bolts of energy fly in his direction. The rest of the wraiths all fire their spells off target, sending red bolts flying every which way and killing two wraiths in the process. In the confusion, all the wraiths seem to have completely forgotten Soul Reaver, and have their attention focused on Deravon. Xeno's thrown dagger is too fast for the wraith to react to. He takes it right between the eyes, snarling in pain as the blade is imbedded into the wraith's exposed skull. This does not appear to kill the wraith, however. It merely stops it's forward advance and knocks it off balance, leaving it wide open for the charging Xeno's followup attack. Cameron is very glad that Jharm was thoughtful enough to shield him before unleashing his holy fire. Although Cameron is immune to natural fire, this immunity does not extend to certain magical fire, and Cameron knew by the uncomfortable heat he could feel through the holy shield that these flames would have severely damaged him. The lenses of his helm's yey holes polarize when exposed to the bright light, and this allows Cameron to watch as the wraiths around him are incinerated almost instantly. This would be his chance. As Jharm's holy flames subside, Cameron's second sword appears in his hand in a puff of smoke. Super-heating both plades till they glow white. Cameron leaps into the air, pushing his elemental energy downwards to allow him to break free of the Cadian gravity. Flipping backwards, he passes over the heads of three more wraiths who emerge from the closest warp gate to him and lands between them and the gate. Before they can turn around, Cameron's blades carve through them, and they fall into broken heaps. Cameron quickly turns around, and blue energy blazes around him as he focuses his mind and extends his hands towards the swirling hole in reality that lies before him. There is a sound like a crack of thunder, and the gate snaps shut, cutting off the hand of another wraith that was in the process of stepping through. One down, three to go. Cameron turns to see the other 3 gates to his left. 3 more wraiths pop out of each gate and stop. Knowing that one of their gates has been shut, the wraiths are now gathering around the other three to try and prevent them from being closed as well. Cameron holds both his blades out to his sides and prepares to charge the wraiths blocking the next gate, knowing that the battle isn't over till the last gate is closed. Father, forgive me, but I must raise my hand against these demons. I undestand. I grant you full permission to proceed. I fear that if you and your companions fail...your whole world shall be doomed! Hearing this seems to put more resolve into the angel as he turns towards the 3 remaining portals and the wraiths that are now desperate to prevent the advancing companions from shutting the rest. Jharm then takes to the air and stops directly in front of the defending wraiths. Suddenly, the angels body begins to glow slightly but slowly increases until it becomes a blinding light shining in all directions, but then he points his hands down at the wraiths and the light centers directly on the demonic creatures, and seems to center mostly on their eyes. Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

Posts: 232 Nov 16 05 3:51 PM Alter-Ego Character More My Recent Posts	As the vampire charges into the group of wraiths, he is hit full on by 2 of the crimson blasts that the wraiths redirected at him. Grunting in pain, the vampire skids to a stop, realizing his plan worked better then expected and that now he, not Soul Reaver, was the wraiths target. The vampire's skin then takes on a darker shade of grey as it takes on the resilience of solid stone. He then moves next to Soul Reaver and waits to see what is to happen next. Posts: 70 Nov 17 05 9:13 AM Private 1st Class More My Recent Posts	The angel's attack has proven effective. He unleashes his heavenly fury on his foes. The white flames he produces, even though quite a distance away from Faidth, succeed in making her feel rather uncomfortable. The discomfort is short and she readies to come to the aid of the companions if necessary. She notices Lord Aileron leap upwards. He seems to be almost suspended in the air, as if the rules of gravity do not apply to him. Faidth is mesmerized as she watches the leader flip in the air and over the heads of 3 of the wraiths. He lands quite close to a strange opening. It appears to be a giant mass of energy, a portal of some sort. This is what is allowing these creatures to escape into this world. Faidth thunders forward, chancing a glance at the Rangela as she accelerates towards the leader. As she gets closer, she notices that Lord Aileron has somehow managed to close one of the portals. He has now turned towards the next portal, where 3 more of the undead face him. She charges forward, holding her Skeerya out in front of her, one in each hand, she dives toward two of the wraiths, embedding the blazing metal deep in their torsos. The momentum should be enough to knock them backwards, sending the wraiths, and Faidth, towards the still open portal.

Posts: 1675 Nov 17 05 10:55 PM The Immortal Brigadier General More My Recent Posts	Deravon's intervention buys Soul Reaver the time he needs to recover. My foot is injured. I could still run if I have to, but I would not be as fast as I would like... and I would still have to get past the Wraiths. But perhaps... Soul Reaver's eyes narrow as an idea comes to him. He would need to do all of this quickly before the Wraiths catch on. Then he thought of Deravon. If he left now, Deravon would be surrounded and alone. Best to take care of any immediate threats first. With the Wraths closing in, there was little time. Deravon receives a message from Soul Reaver. I have an idea, but you must hold them off for a moment longer. Soul Reaver remains hunkered down on the ground, hoping that his enemies would consider him less of a threat than Deravon and ignore him. He closes his eyes and whispers words of magic. Pure mana begins to flow through his body, igniting his blood with an invigorating fire. A bead of sweat forms on his brow as he struggles to maintain control, to ignore all distractions that would cause his spell to dissipate before he could properly shape it. The magic flows together into his chest, feeling like a white-hot lump in his ribcage. Blue energy now sparkles and crackles over his bent frame, signalling that something is about to happen. The spell was almost done! Just three more words... (OOC)

Posts: 978 Nov 17 05 11:46 PM [Insert Custom Rank Here] Colonel More My Recent Posts	Kitharsis grunts as his fist connects with the wraith's chin and takes off most of its face. It flails and falls to the ground, hopefully dead. Motion much too close for comfort to his side attracts his attention and he pivots just in time to see three wraiths arcing their scimitars at him, threatening to cause a great amount of damage to him. The solid spikes of sand were thankfully still circling him, prepared for a surprise such as this. The wraiths on the left and right are assaulted by two spikes each, all four of them aiming for their respected torsos and preparing to explode if they hit their mark. Kitharsis ignores them both, trusting his aim with the spikes, and concentrates on the middle wraith of the three. He grabs the middle wraith's arm at the wrist and, using the momentum of its chop, ducks down as he throws it over his shoulders. The last remaining spike of sand awaits on the other side of the Tirthandara, and the wraith's path will send it flying directly onto it if it doesn't manage to manuever itself in the air away from it.

He notices Soul Reaver crouched, preparing some spell, yet he was surrounded by wraiths. Raising up just enough to take aim with his Winchester, Diego takes careful aim and fires three quick shots at three of the wraiths near Soul Reaver. Each is aimed for their heads. Before revealing himself for too long, Diego thumps back down behind the wall and peers out of the few holes in it. Hopefully this will give Soul Reaver enough time to finish his spell.

Posts: 978 Nov 18 05 8:14 AM [Insert Custom Rank Here] Colonel More My Recent Posts	Kelvack had been buzzing above the battle, watching everyone fight against these wraiths that keep pouring out of the portals. Growing rather bored just fluttering about in the air, the shapeshifter decides to enter the fray once again. He takes a path towards the closest warp gate towards him. It was the one next to the gate Cameron was charging towards. Still in mid-air, Kelvack's yellow exoskeleton starts to disslove around him. It bubbles and begins to liquify, dripping off and streaming behind him as he falls towards the group of three wraiths in front of the portal. He hits the ground in his usual form, about 5 feet tall, red spiky hair, no shirt, white arm wraps, baggy white pants with red trim at the bottom, a red sash tied in the middle keeping them up, and of course no shoes. Raising his arms above his shoulders, another set of arms bursts out below them. They also bear the white arm wraps. He reaches behind his back with both sets of arms; the bottom set reaching for the small of his back and the top set reaching for his shoulder blades. With a sly grin on his face he yanks his arms forwards, each hand grasping a short sword made of bone. The bone melts away to show a red glinting blade beneath. "Since you guys can't fly, I figured I'd have to come to you. It was the least I could do. I mean, you all came here for a fight, and you just found one." The blades of his short swords begin to glow faintly, showing that they were made of more than just metal. Remembering that wraiths are a bit weaker to magic, Kelvack had charged the swords with a bit of fire. He was careful not to draw too much though. The pyro-maniac Kelvack was rather hard to deal with at times... With a yell, he rushes towards the wraiths with his four short swords prone to strike and defend. His eyes bear a faint trace of red, his personality beginning to change with his change of affinity.

The vampire then seems to concentrate, forcing the blood to rush through his long dead body, expanding his muscles, causing him to grow several inches taller and wider, causing him to look even more threatening then before. "Come demons, you wanted a fight....YOU SHALL HAVE ONE!!!" Without a moment of hesitation the Methuselah then grabs the wraith closest to him and whips him into the wraiths gathered behind him and proceeds to do whatever in he can to try and draw all attention away from the crouched figure at his feet.
