He suddenly feels wamrth against his back, and in mid air, flips around to see a wave of fire coming at him. His polearm made of air dissapears, as he begins focusing and condensing air and moisture between his two hands. He throws his hands out and a sheild of purely condensed air and moisture forms a hemispherical sheild around him, facing the flame ~If I must die, I will encounter darkness as a bride, and hug it in mine arms"~

But his jaw goes slump as he watches Devaron tackle the wraith out of the air. He reaches out to them, the skin on his hand has not grown back yet. But he did not have enough influence on his skin to stop the explosion. "Stupid vampire!" He screams, clenching his fist. He knew that if he stayed in 'white energy mode' he could muster up some healing abilities. But pure Kelvack was too pious and honorable to have any fun. "Oh well..." His eyes grow brighter as the white takes them over. The roots of his hair also start to fade to white, slowly moving to the tips. Kelvack floats over to closer to the blaze, preparing to finish off the wraith mage or to help Devaron, whichever needed tending to first.

Posts: 978 Jan 14 06 1:47 PM [Insert Custom Rank Here] Colonel More My Recent Posts	Kitharsis noticed Cameron sneaking up from behind the wraiths, but made no expression to give away his presence. The moment the wraith mages lose their transparency, the skull tattoo on his left forearm erupts with a burst of energy. A large, feral skeleton with a thick bone structure launches out of the tattoo. Its shoulders, hips and knees are covered with spikes and its hands and feet end in thick, sharp claws. It flies towards the wraith opposite of Cameron, slashing and kicking at the mage. Kitharsis, on the other hand, having let loose his minion, has to deal with the gavity well and energy blast being launched at him. His muscles strain as he rolls to the side. He is trying to use the added gravity to propell him towards the ground so that he can roll faster. He is not quick enough, yet the majority of the blast hits the asphalt under him. An amount of it hits his leg as he dives, throwing off his roll. The resulting explosion from the blast hitting the ground sends energy and asphalt crashing into him. A scream of pain wrenching itself from his lips.

Posts: 1675 Jan 16 06 9:08 PM The Immortal Brigadier General More My Recent Posts	As the magical burst streaks down towards Soul Reaver, he slams the Fists of Force into it, causing an ear-splitting boom as the two spells nullify each other. Soul Reaver is already preparing for a counter attack as the Wraith hurls a lightning bolt in his direction. This time, he was ready. Just a split second before the white hot, zig-zagging bolt hits Soul Reaver, he completes a Rebound spell. The lightning bolt strikes an invisible, spherical barrier, crawling over the surface as though trying to get in. Electric squeals and crackles emenate from the spell. Then, the spell's energies are suddenly wrenched away from the Wraith's control. That very instant, the lightning leaps away from the barrier and unnerringly seeks to strike the Wraith that cast the spell. Not wasting another moment of time, Soul Reaver's hand moves rapidly in a mesmerizing pattern as he quickly completes a second incantation. This time, he wields the deadly, firey magics of the Order of the Warlocks and casts an Ignite spell directly on his foe, intending to incinerate this hateful creature once and for all. (OOC)

Posts: 274 Jan 16 06 11:58 PM Sergeant More My Recent Posts	After the falling debris from the grenade is all lying safely on the ground again Diego stands up and looks around. Again surrounded by dust in every direction he starts walking in the direction of the sounds of battle. The dust starts to thin out and Diego surveys the surrounding area. For the first time since the start of the battle Diego gets a chance to really look around and as the companions battle on his jaw lowers in shock as he see's the various fighting styles, the ferocity they all right with and their various mystical forms. But although he can see how powerful his fellow fighters are he can also see how formidable the current mage wraiths they are fighting are. Magic pounds in his head from the overwhelming use of it and he staggers. Gasping he knows he is at a serious dis-advantage and may need a magic ward upon him if he is to fight alongside this group. The magic around him intesifys and he falls to his knees. Diego crawls backwards, back into the settling dust and debris and avoids this fight, the companions and wraiths are too close to hit safely with his guns anyway. "Ford" "Yes?" "...Whats this fish doing in my ear?"

His planning is cut short though by a sudden explosion that seems to have originated from the wraiths back. Before he can do anything, Deravon goes sailing backwards and crashes into a nearby building vanishing from sight. Sic vis pacem para bellum - Latin - If you want peace...prepare for war.

The heat stings on the slightly less well-protected membranes of his wings and his horny eyelids, but the power he pulls from the fire banishes the pain; he feels like a plant soaking in the bright cleansing light of the sun, converting the cosmic fury of a star into a white-hot needlepoint of rage. Demon eyes sweep the area, piercing through matter to alight on the soul-fires of those present: the bright white of the humans' souls, the taste of a funeral on a rainy day; the dark pulsating voids of the vampires, a howling wind in the gnarled branches of a doom-laden forest; the smouldering orange of the silver-armored one, a tongue of flame in a whirling firestorm. Others: sweet vacations and clashing dischords. One stands apart, blazing like a sun above and beyond the rest, a prismatic conglomeration of unimaginable age, tinted with the bitter taint of warp-Daemons. Sypher's demon-persona slavers, avarice welling within it as it contemplates that soul. Oh, to devour such a thing! His - no, its - being thrills with promise; that one's soul would be the prize of prizes, the ultimate forbidden fruit. But the raw POWER commanded by it - even the might of Ixjuvin might not match it. But there are presences besides the mortal and immortal soul-fires here, presences which bring Sypher-demon back to the task at hand. The wraiths' existance gnaws at him, and with demon-eyes he sees the lines of delicious power flowing through them - especially those lovely staffs. Sypher watches as the armored warrior attacks one of the three landbound ones, and orients on an adjacent one. He folds back his leathery wings and goes into a force-assisted dive, like a bird of prey. By this time - half-transformed and fully-armored - he weighs a good 250-300 pounds, and will be moving roughly sixty miles per hour when he hits; his feet are large and clawed just like his hands.

Posts: 739 Jan 20 06 10:16 AM Seraphim Captain More My Recent Posts	Jharm is about to head back into battle when an explosion rips through the air, and he sees the figure of Deravon crash into a nearby building and disappear. he then spots Kelvack moving towards where Deravon disappeared and knows that he is planning on helping the vampire. Kelvack...do not get too close. I fear that explosion may have triggered the Deravon we used to know to come forth, and there is no knowing whos side he might be on. A strange feeling then washes over Jharm and he gazes in the direction of Sypher...to see a demon standing in his place. Waves of evil batter Jharms mind as he gazes upon the evil creature. He then hears an explosion and a cry of pain follow it. He turns to see Kitharsis on the ground, his legs wounded from some attack the wraiths just performed. The angel takes to the sky and lands in front of the 3 wraiths. He begins to chant a prayer that if it works will cause the wraiths to flee in terror, allowing him to care for Kitharsis's wounds. Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

Tossing his sword up and Reaching up, he catches his felled opponent by the skull, squeezing it until he hears a satisfying crunch and the skull concaves. Using the fine bone powder from his enemy, he chalks up his hands and grips the 2 delicate blades tighter as the Kurusunami falls back into its Master's hand. Fei's ears perk up almost as he instantly turns himself around in an instant to see what appears to be a losing battle on their end. He lets out a hiss and shakes his head. Leaning in to charge, makeshift images in time, ripple off his body, leaving mirrors in time, bending the light around them. In an instant, Fei's ripping across the battlefield, a wave of shadowy images wisping away, melting with the light. Hurdling forward as the blast that rocks Kitharsis erupts, Fei flips forward, arms outstretched, planting his feet on a piece of exploding Concrete in mid air as he passes by it. Kicking off the slab, he soars forward, narrowed in on One of the wraiths that he weakened with his Abyssmal blades. The Yugitti soars through the air, not aimed directly at the Mage Wraith that Fei is narrowed in on; But a distraction to the other 2 wraiths as it dances in their direction, a reality bending gold disk. In the same instant, Fei is hovering over the original Mage Wraith he had dashed in at. The hand he threw his sword with has been brought back, Crackling with black and purple energy. Shadowy still images envelope him as his has winded up. The images tear apart around his arm as he builds up a great force from the speed he generated as he charged. Thrusting forward, he aims at putting his fist right through this wraith. The force of the punch causes the Asphault to ripple up for several feet in length behind the position of the Wraith which Fei plans on Decapitating. I being Poor have only my dreams And I have spread my dreams under your feet. So Tread Lightly, Because you Tread on my Dreams.

Posts: 3771 Feb 18 06 7:25 AM Angel of Redemption God-General More My Recent Posts	Faidth's Skeerya makes quick work of the defenseless wraith at her feet, slicing through bone as if it were thin tissue paper. Sepher's air shield successfully protects him from the wave of fire that washes over him. As the spell fades, Sepher can see the wraith hovering in front of him, already working on another spell. But the spell isn't ready yet, so Sepher may have a chance to mount a counter-attack if he is quick. The wraith who was attacking Kitharsis is caught off guard by Kitharsis's minion. Not expecting such a relentless physical attack, the wraith is forced to the ground and crushed beneath the blows. It dies quickly. The other wraith who had attacked Kitharsis is still hovering above the now injured warrior, and it quickly turns it's attention to the skeletal minion. It casts a powerful de-animate spell which, if the minion is a magical summon, will cause the magic keeping the creature alive to be dispelled. The wraith manages to get this spell off just before he is hit from behind by Sypher. The impact alone is enough to kill the frail mage, and it's corpse falls lifeless to the ground. Soul Reaver's rebound spell sends the lightning bolt hurtling back at the mage, and it connects with the undead creature at the same time as the ignite spell. The wraithis engulfed in flames, and at first glance, it looks like Soul Reaver's attacks were successful. But then the flames fade. The wraith still hangs in midair with it's anti-magic field crackling around it. It appears to still be completely undamaged. Wasting no time, the wraith unleashes a volley of 15 magic bolts that spread out and stream down towards Soul Reaver, leaving no room for escape. They will explode on impact. Jharm's spell ends up being completely unnecessary, as two of the three wraiths that were attacking Kitharsis are now dead, and the third is otherwise pre-occupied fighting Cameron. The spell does not effect this third wraith, and it keeps it's attention focused on the fallen marine, waiting for him to get back up. This ends up being a fatal mistake, as the wraith completely misses the approach of Fei. Caught completely off guard, the wraith is powerless to do anything to defend against the fierce melee attacks directed at it and is decapitated. It's skull is sent flying across the battlefield, while the rest of it falls lifelessly to the ground. This happens just as Cameron pulls himself out of the pile of rubble around him. Looking around, Cameron sees that there are only a few wraiths left. One is in combat with Sepher, and the other one os fighting Soul. Seeing no immedeate threats in the area, Cameron turns his attention to the final warp gate. Moving quickly over to it, he begins to concentrate, preparing to close it. He sees the wraith preparing another spell, and decided that she should probably end this as quick as possible. In the blink of an eye, sepher is next to the wraith, his hand on teh front of it, building energy. He unleashes the most unholy bolt of lightning his demonic body can muster, directly into the chest of the creature,.drawing on the dark forces around him ~If I must die, I will encounter darkness as a bride, and hug it in mine arms"~

Posts: 1675 Feb 19 06 6:41 AM The Immortal Brigadier General More My Recent Posts	Soul Reaver scowls as he sees the Wraith's barrier dispel his attacks. For them to maintain a standing anti-magic barrier for this long is quite a feat indeed. But it does suggest that its concentration will be focussed on maintaining the barrier, and that should leave it vulnerable for what is to come. First however he must deal with the bolts of magic streaming down at him. His first instinct is to draw Blooddrinker and put an end to this. Yet he knows the situation is not dire enough to warrant such a risk, so Soul Reaver thinks of an alterantive. The Wraith is not the only creature that knows anti-magic. Soul Reaver decides that crude but stong may be better than subtle in this situation. As the blasts hurtle downwards, Soul Reaver quickly performs a backwards roll - straight towards the open Warp Gate. At the same time, he allows for a massive build up of mana in his body. He is crouched but on his feet again, right beside the Warp Gate, moments before the impact of the bolts. His mouth twists into a wry smile and he unleashes the concentrated mana as a powerful, spherical Drain Magic field. He feels much of his own mana sap from his body, but the expanding sphere will shred the finely woven enchantments of the incoming bolts like a sword slicing through paper. His close vincinity to the Warp Gate is not accidental either. The magics keeping the Gate open will amost certainly fail as the magic-nullifying energies sweep over it at close range. The sphere is still expanding as muscles flex in Soul Reaver's legs and send him leaping upwards at the Wraith. It may not necessarily have been quite within range of the field, but that would not matter. Soul Reaver's jump is timed so that it matches the expansion of the sphere, meaning that it's walls are mere centimetres from his face as he jumps. As well as hopefully obscuring his jump from the Wraith, the sizzling blue barrier would serve to weaken any spells it might choose to send Soul Reaver's way. Though the field would weaken as it travelled further from the impact point, the Wraith would have only a second or two to even realize what was going on, let alone think of a counter measure. Soul Reaver surmises that since the Wraith was maintaining a standing anti-magical field, it's reactions would almost certainly be dulled... and so it would have little hope of avoiding Darkstar's spiked steel ball, even now swishing through the air to crush its damnable skull.

Posts: 168 Feb 19 06 6:43 PM Corporal More My Recent Posts	Sypher's demon-persona purrs in pleasure as the desiccated bones of the undead thing are crushed beneath his claws. He catches a small burst of energy as its power dissipates and it dies a second time, but not the rush of a soul snatched from the firmament on its way to Hell - or whatever passes for Hell in this godsforsaken ass-end of nowhere. He straightens up and quickly glances around, assuring himself that the two remaining wraiths are already engaged. These planelubbers seem more than amply equipped to deal with this sort of thing... although a couple seem out of place in this asphalt-industrial urb-environment. Especially Mr. Multi-Soul with the morning star. One of the warriors catches Sypher's eye, a winged, armored figure that for some reason caused angelic to float to the top of his mind. The warrior glances at him for a moment -! Hssssssssss! The demon recoils in surprise - a burning pain stabs through Sypher's temples. He claps a clawed hand to his scaled head and for a moment is distracted enough that the demon-persona gains control. It has enough time to shoot the winged one a vicious, hate-filled glare before Sypher shoves it aside and returns it to subservience. The demon knows that this being, this thing is anathema, its polar opposite, and recoils in hate and terror. He sighs and pushes the demon further back, trapping and enclosing it in the blood-soaked corner of his mind he reserves specially for it. As he does so the scales shrink and slide back under his skin and dissolve to reveal soft white flesh; the elongated bones of his snout liquefy and flow back to form a regular facial structure; the claws on his hands retract and bcome fingernails; his wings fold in and fuse and become one more a black snakeskin trench coat. Well, that's that. I suppose I should ask these characters if they need this planeswalker's help in repelling any further invasions. Hmm... angel-boy over there seems to be done with his bit. The demon doesn't like him too much, so he can't be half bad. So, let's go have a look-see. He walks leasurely over to where the... angelic... warrior now stands, feeling the demon's distaste grow as he draws near. By the time he's within comfortable speaking distance the palpable goodness he radiates is making the demon squirm in its mental prison. Sypher slides on a small I-Know-More-Than-You smile, one of the ones he uses when dealing with planelubbers. "Hey. Sorry about the Glare of Death back there; my Worse Half obviously doesn't think too highly of you." Sypher gives him a slow once-over, "but I don't think you're so bad." he turns around, looking away for a moment. "So, what can a planeswalker like myself do to help you folks? You seem to have a bad warp-wraith infestation... 'course," he says half to himself, "as planelubbers you-all seem quite overpowered." As he talks his surity grows. Despite their power he's now almost certain that he's superior to this ragtag bunch; maybe they'll have some minor quest for him to do before he moves on to look for some Outsider ass to kick.

Faidth pauses as she feels static electricity charge through her body, eminating towards her head where it ruffles her hair like a breeze of wind. She feels slightly tired, and she takes note of the little white streaks of hair that have formed from the stun. "Ugh... I feel kind of tired. And my hair! Well, at least it will go away in a few hours. I'm not too fond of looking like an old crone." Faidth notices the grand armored leader rushing towards the last of the gates, she follows in pursuit should he need the help. Though I don't even know what type of help he needs. What the hell are these portals? They look like the ones that the OSLOWS were attacking from in Fyra...

I am in your debt." Quickly Kitharsis whips his head in the direction of his newest skeleton and clenches his left fist, the same arm with the skull tattoo on it. He looks like he is in pain. The feral skeleton doubles over as the de-animate spell hits. It explodes in a burst of sand, the majority of which travels back into the skull tattoo. "That was most unexpected." The skull was glowing white and was hot to the touch. Sypher walks over, seemingly mocking Jharm, and everyone else also. Newly healed and just having had his recent skeleton dispelled, Kitharsis was in no mood for this. He stands up, rubbing his left arm. "Never leave a battle unfinished." He looks towards Soul Reaver and Sepher, watching as they execute their attacks on the wraith mages. Frowning, he turns to look at Sypher, still unsure of this new warrior.

It is my duty" After speaking this, Jharm senses that the demon creature is looking at him, almost has if he can feel the gaze on the back of his neck. He stands up as Sypher approaches. He silently listens as he speaks and notes in particular the comment about his worse self. The angel then turns around and gazes directly as Sypher, and even though no face can be seen within the armored helm, the demon-being almost feels as if eyes were gazing out at him, the gaze feeling like it was gazing into his very soul. "I do not think too highly of him as well, demons and angels are not known to be too friendly towards each other. As for us being planetlubbers, I am not familiar with the term, and this is no simple wraith-infestation." The angel leaves it at that though for a number of reasons. First he is not even sure if the battle is done and he does not want to release information to someone they dont even know, especially a demon. Most importantly though, Deravon still has not reappeared after being exposed to the massive explosion from Kelvacks attack. The angel quickly scans the area and senses life, or unlife as the case may be, radiating from the upstairs of the building that Deravon crashed into. He still lives. Jharm then takes to the air and flies into the hole in the wall and begins his search for the vampire. Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

He comes to as Jharm lands on the floor, near the pile of rubble that buries the vampire. He stands up, brushing himself off and walks over to the hole and stands next to Jharm. "How goes the battle?" Jharm: It is practically finished. Currently there are two wraiths still standing and I do not forsee them holding out much longer. I felt it safe to come here and check up on you. "You should know be better then to underestimate me like that Seraphim. Is the gate closed yet? Jharm: No, last I saw Lord Aileron was headed in that direction to close it. I suggest we join him quickly in case anything comes after him to stop him from closing it. "Agreed." The vampire then jumps to the ground and leaps into the air, flying through the air and landing with a slam a few feet next to Clutchfiend. jharm lands on the other side of Clutchfiend. The vampire speaks up. "Lord Aileron, we shall protect you while you close that gate!" Sic vis pacem para bellum - Latin - If you want peace...prepare for war.

The one time he tries to help someone out he is called off. Oh well, if Devaron wanted to make something of it Kelvack would just have to play nice, it was his fault the vampire got exploded anyway... Then Devaron and Jharm leap out of the building and land next to Cameron. The vampire seems to be under control and hasn't even glanced at Kelvack yet. Damn white energy, he still feels very guilty. He flies next to the three of them and guards Cameron as well. "You have some awful luck, Devaron. But I suppose sneaky attacks like that one aren't only dangerous for the enemies eh? Sorry, no hard feelings?"

The wraith roars in pain when Sepher sets his hand on it's chest, but the lightning has virtually no effect. The wraith teleports away to escape any pending physical attacks from Sepher, and then launches two fireballs that sream towards the floating warrior. Soul Reaver's attack, however, was finally successful. Having finally happened upon these wraith's only weakness- pure physical attacks, Soul Reaver manages to take out his wraith. He flies through the air, just behind the dispel magic barrier that causes the magical bolts to fizzle out before they hit their target. The anti-magic barrier has no effect on the wraith itself, but Darkstar crashing into its thin skull does. The body of the wraith falls to the ground in a heap, and Soul Reaver is left with a crushed skull stuck to his weapon. As Cameron begins to concentrate on unweaving the magic that is holding the gate open, he feels a wave of anti-magical energy rip by him. The gate wavers, weakened by the spell. Cameron grabs the opportunity and focuses all of his mental energy on the gate as Jharm and Deravon land behind him. As the gate slowly closes, a huge creature begins to pus it's way through the gate. It is a warp beast, identical to the creatures that had attacked the companions earlier. It manages to get it's head through, but the ever shrinking gate cuts gouges into the monster's shoulders as it tries to squeeze through. Snarling in pain, the creature pulls back, leaving only it's head sticking through the closing gate. It roars in frustration, and then pulls it's head the rest of the way back into the warp as kelvack lands. The gate snaps closed. The invasion has been halted. Cameron turns to face the three companions. "Thanks for watching my back. Are the other wraiths dead?" Looking around, Cameron spies the last wraith flinging fire in Sepher's direction. Wasting no time, he launches himself into the air, intersecting the fireballs before they reach their target. He takes control of them, but he does not send them back to their creator. he instead absorbs the non-magical flames and uses the energy to temporarrily boost his strength. Flying behind the wraith, he attacks before it can turn around and cuts it in half with his blades. The final wraith falls dead. Cameron drops back to the ground and walks back over to Jharm, Deravon, and Kelvack. Karyl joins him, and Cameron glances in his direction. "Karyl. Did your team make it through okay?" Karyl nods. The grey-armored bossman snaps the final warp gate shut and approaches, apparently heading to wherever angel-boy got off to.
