You are standing upon the black steel and bone drawbridge of the fortress of Pandemonium. The steel walls of the edifice tower far, far over you… they make you feel like an insignificant insect, about to be crushed by a behemoth.

The walls of the Fortress are studded with barbs, spikes, serrations and chains. Spires jut from it at unnatural angles, and gargoyles leer down at you with cruel, dead eyes. You can see tormented souls suspended from the walls… you can hear their cries even here. Lightning constantly lashes the towers, causing the steel edifice to flicker eerily.

The doors leading into Pandemonium are simply massive, at least twenty metres high. Two impressive Daemons stand at its side – they are about three metres tall and at least equally wide, their skin made from living metal. They glare at you with glinting, malevolent eyes, the only feature on their faces. Their elongated heads seem to be fused with the front of their torso, and they have no neck that you can see. In their claws, they grip swords almost as large as you are…

Below you is a burning chasm, filled with endless flames fuelled by the souls of the damned. Twisting spires of rock jut from the chasm occasionally, and you can see skeletal silhouettes writhing in pain within the fires. The heat is overwhelming.

Beyond the chasm are the grey, endless wastelands of Inferno. You can see the faint shapes of the Lesser Daemons there, but they do not approach any closer… you get the feeling that even they fear this place. You are glad that Soul Reaver is by your side.

If you wish, you can ask Soul Reaver to tell you more about this place. If you would rather press on, you can enter Pandemonium, or walk out into the wastes. Or if you would rather leave this place at once, you can open a Warp Gate and enter the Warp.
