You are standing in front of a block of roughly rectangular obsidian, which appears to have risen from the very rock of the island itself.

Although its sides are rough, the top surface is smooth as glass. It appears to be a table of some sort.

Another block of obsidian forms a crude chair, which stands at one end of the table. Though it is made of rock, you find that it looks strangely comfortable.

Near one corner of the table lies a slim book, its cover bound in fine brown leather, with gold trimmings. The book’s title, ‘A Guide to the Multiverse’, is written in gold leaf upon the front. The book feels soft to the touch.

Perhaps even more interestingly, something that resembles an oversized chess board also sits upon the table. Several amazingly-crafted miniatures stand upon the board, with many others scattered nearby and a few more kept in a small oaken box beside the board.

Soul Reaver stands by your side, willing to offer guidance. You may pick up and read ‘A Guide to the Multiverse’ if you so choose, or you can seat yourself down in front of the game-board and take a closer look at the fascinating miniatures. Alternatively, you may step back from the table to survey the rest of the Obsidian Island, or turn to the bookcase nearby… or if you wish, you may leave this place through a Warp Gate, entering the Warp once again.

Finally, you may wish to ask your guide to take you with him on his current quest.
